The ability to interact with the program that you are watching is pretty cool but the interface is wicked slow. I watched a basketball game last night (Go Mavs!) and loved all of the interactive features but by the time an event (say a three point shot) became available to be commented on the game was already a dozen plays down the road. Reading comments in the Nintendo TVii Miiverse community is a blast though.

Honestly I love it.
I no longer have to look for when my favorite Shows are playing, it automatically lets me know then i just go to it. THATS THE BEST FEATURE EVER

I like it, but it seems to be missing some of my local channels.

Yea, I only tried once, but I couldn't get it to control my cable box. It even said at one point "it appears you are not set up to control your cable box. Would you like to?" I chose yes, but nothing happened.

I'll have to try again.

I'm at work during the Primetime TV hours, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I was reading the IGN preview on watching a game on it and they didn't say it was slow, so maybe its your connection.

Go to system settings and change the TV remote settings to STB and TV.

That is my only problem with it. I love it TV Tag only worked for 2 shows I like but their is supposed to be another update around January that is supposed to fix every problem.

It's pretty damn useless honestly. I thought it was going to be cool but it's slow as hell for one and the chat function doesn't even work on 95% of the channels that I'd want to use it on. The only thing I've used it for so far is just to see whats on tv then I just use my TV remote because of how stupidly slow it is.

I'm impressed with it. It's way more intuitive and easier to navigate than Comcast's archaic guide system. And the fact that other video services are integrated into it is really smart and awesome.

To those who say it's slow, I haven't had that issue. When you tap on what you want to watch, it just "types" out the channel numbers to your cable box JUST like your fingers would do with the TV remote. Live updates for sports games are different, though. I tried it with a football game and it was fine, because football is a slower sport. Basketball is fast, and the amount of data you get for each play probably takes longer to input than for that play to actually happen, so that's understandable. I bet it would work perfectly for a baseball game, and you could have entire debates with other Miiverse users about the history of the world and the basis of quantum physics between pitches. :)

I really wish there was a Return or Back button on the STB remote. It's bugging me.

Right. I was not complaining about the user interface being slow (no problems there) but rather the live updates for sporting events (basketball in particular). I used Nintendo TVii last night to watch the Falcons and Lions game and it was much better. With more time inbetween plays you could comment on the last play before the next one started and interact with other veiwers from around the country in real time. That was awesome. I am guessing that you are right and that this will be a fantastic feature for slower sports like football and baseball (is it spring training time yet? I want my Rangers!) but will probably be pretty useless for quicker moving sports like basketball and hockey.

I think the potential is there for something really cool. As of now, however, I personally have no use for it. It simply doesn't do enough to warrant me turning on the Wii U when I'm watching something on TV.

Perhaps when DVR access is available, and if/when I can watch those shows as well as live shows on the GamePad, then they'll be offering me something that I find usefull.

For now, though, if I want to see the scores of other games they are available on the bottom of the TV screen, or I can simply look down at my tablet to follow other games. If I want to post a thought I can do so on Facebook or Twitter; not MiiVerse that will only reach a very limited amount of people.

They'll need to do something innovative to get me to put my tablet aside and have the GamePad on my lap instead.

^You can post on Miiverse, Facebook and Twitter at the same time with TVii. Used it yesterday during an episode of American Dad, it was interesting.

Is anyone else intrigued by the possiblity that 3DS could also support this software. A sort of "on the go" feature that would make this app even more interesting.

This app is something the competition does not directly have an answer to. Eventhough it has already come with the regular Nintendo problems it has so much potential.

I would like it better if it worked. I select a channel and it turns on something completly different. I don't think the internal guide Nintendo uses is matching my TVSP.

You sure you selected the corrected provider? I selected Direct TV and while it cant control my DVR box, it attempts to change the channel on my TV to what would be the actual channel on Direct TV.

Yeah, but neither tellus package matches up properly.
