How do you play mario kart wii?

Personally, I like the tilt controls a lot. I find them much better than anything else. Though, the shell just makes it too bulky, so I just use the wiimote alone.

I've only played with the Wheel and Cube controller, but I prefer the Cube controller. I should try the chuck one day.

i started using the wheel but when i play alone i use the GC control to save batteries. i gotta try the chuck and wiimote though.

I'm definately a Wii remote and nunchuk kinda gamer. The wheel is too sensitive.

wiimote and chuck, best of both worlds if you ask me. You get the precision of analog steering and the ease of a quick waggle for tricks/wheelies rather than reaching for the D-up button on the GC controller. I also enjoy the speaker warning when you're about to cop an item up the rear end

Wii-mote without the wheel. I used to play with the wheel, but I think it's easier without it.

When I first played Mario Kart Wii, I originally used the Wii Wheel, but I did have problems performing drifts and mini-turbos with it. Both techniques are needed to win races.

I now mainly use the the GameCube controller (for both online and off-line races), but somehow felt unconfortable using the directional pad to perform tricks. I like performing tricks using the Wii Wheel.

I have yet to use the Wii Remote plus the Nunchuk scheme.

I use the GameCube Controller, the Wii Wheel is not the greatest thing ever, and the WiiMote/Nunchuck combo is OK, but I like the GameCube Controller in the end.

I use the Wii Wheel for all races. I haven't played Mario Kart Wii with anything but with Wii Wheel. I have a Golden Wii Wheel next to my name when I play online because I use it all the time.

Started off with the Wheel and found it a ton of fun, but realized I do much better with the GC Controller (by no means does that mean I'm great). 12th place to 11th place is considered better. I'm going to have to try the Wiimote and Nunchuck combo.

That's odd. I find the wiimote (with or with out shell) to be a lot more precise. I feel like I have much more control over drifts and boosts.

I started with the WaveBird and stuck with it. Can't beat the precise controls and great battery life.
