I know that on a Lite you press L+R+Start+Select, so I tried that on the Phat but it didn't work. I don't see why there wouldn't be way to soft reset, so I probably used the wrong button combination. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

This day, you are unfortunate, for I have no answer to give you. Better luck next time.

Damn, I sounded really smart, huh?

It depends on the game. I have a Phat, and I think it only works in games that were programmed to do it. If the Lite does it in ALL the games (I don't know) then maybe they had switched this program line to the DS itself.

Nope. For instance, you can't soft reset in Animal Crossing and Final Fantasy III regardless of whether you have an original DS or a Lite. It's game-related.

Although I doubt you haven't figured it out yet, or still care after 2 years, it is L+R+A+B+Select+Start.
