I think you need the Hookshot to get yourself up to the Forest Temple.
To get the Hookshot you
Go to the Graveyard in Kakariko and push aside a grave on the left side I believe. Dampe will be there and will challenge you to a race, beat him to get the Hookshot.
I beat Jabu Jabu and now sidequesting before i move forward...
But i could've already beaten it,i've had it since the 16th.
All of you newcomers to the game just make me feel so old :(

Your telling me. I was playing the orginal on n64 in high school...
I am on Death Mountain after beating the phantom that you fight of the main bad guy. The fight with the guy on the horse going in and out of the paintings surrounding the room. But I am playing the Gamecube version. :P Also playing Majora's Mask. Been going back and forth between the two.
at ganon's castle, trying to get the last heart container (never got all 20 hearts in Oot before)
i wanna unlock masterquest XD
Coming toward the forest temple for about the 20th time, but for the 3DS version, first. About 5 actual hours in, kinda disappointed I havent beat it yet, but at the same time I usually get all the extra stuff I can remember so that sidetracks me a lot...really should try a speed run.
Just got to the Water Temple earlier today when I last played.
I've gone through the game really fast. Makes me disappointed that this isn't really a remake, it's just the same thing with better graphics and controls.
What do you guys/gals think is the hardest temple? For me I always thought the water temple was confusing, but the rest pretty straight forward.EternalX50Jabu Jabus Belly.

Personally, I would say the shadow temple is probably the hardest because, even though its completely linear, it **** with you all the way til the end. The bosses and puzzles aren't especially hard, but if you make a mistake you can find yourself at the beginning of the temple (and since the temple is linear, you'll have a lot of walking to do).
I did the water temple the first time a few days ago. I thought it was easy but also a lot of fun. I can TOTALLY see how people could hate it back in 1998 because the iron boots couldn't be put in the quick slot.
About 5 and half hours in, about to beat the first Zora dungeon (inside the Fish) as Young Link.
I've been playing a lot, well everytime I sit down with it I play for 45 mins or more because I don't want to have to walk from Link's hut all the way to where I was doing stuff when I resume my save, so I keep getting to the beginning of a new dungeon before I turn it off.
Jabu Jabus Belly.Jabu Jabus Belly is where I am currently at. I cannot believe that I did not know how to use the "lock-on" function when using the boomerang when defeating the parasites. I just threw the boomerang at them at random in the belief that it will hit their weak point. I was also frustrated when fighting the octopus and it took me some time how to defeat it. I also having problems defeating the boss character. Thank goodness for video hints. By the way, this is the first time I ever played a 3D console Zelda as I have long played 2D games since the first game in the 1987.
What do you guys/gals think is the hardest temple? A remake is the same game with updated graphics and controls. Otherwise it would be a different game.....

To me a true remake is a big overhaul, of course it's the same game with the same story, locations, etc., but it would be somewhat of a different experience. Look at Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver.
With this game I really am getting 100% of the same vibe I got when I last played the N64 version. It looks like they merely added new textures (graphically) to the existing game and called it a day. Sorry, but I expect more from a remake.
Edit: Am I the only one who finds starting all the way back at the kokiri forest every time a huge pain? El_Zo1212oUp until I got Epona, yes. Now I just find it fun riding around everywhere. Just got four more heart pieces for my tenth heart, now on my way to the fire temple.
100% completion of the first quest, now on to the Master Quest. It will be welcomed as I have never played the Master Quest. Also this game is now my all time favorite game, its a legend...no pun intended.
