How far have you progressed in Punch-Out!! ? (Spoilers)

This game just came out this weak and everyone knows it is quite a challenge. I am just wondering how far everyone who has it progressed so far.

PLEASE do not reveal the 14th character for I want it to be a surprise for me

I have made it to the Champion, MR Sandman and I find him to be many leagues harder than the rest! Super Muscle-man is a cake walk in general (why is he the second last guy?)

It would also be nice if we could coach eachother as well in this thread to help those farther behind if they want it.

EDIT: I have now beat the first circuit in Title Defence Mode and decided to stop. I'm at TD Piston Hondo.

Title Defense mode, Bear Hugger.

I'm on Great Tiger in Title Defense mode.

Getting my ass kicked for the nth time at his hands has spurred me to go to Exhibition mode to cool off for now. :P

I'm on Title Defense Don Flamenco, I'm taking it slow and practicing with the hologram training and doing a few exhibition challenges to break things up a bit.

Im on soda papinski (sp?) in the world circuit, how do you counter him? His attacks are so quick I have no time to counter and get stars

Just got the game this morning and been playing for an hour and a bit and have just defeated Aran Ryan. So far I've had to rematch Bear Hugger, Great Tiger, Don Flamenco and Aran Ryan. So far the difficulty seems on par with the NES version, which unfortunatly I've never completed, as I can't get past Don Flamenco 2.

At the moment, I'm at the World Circuit, fighting against Soda Popinski. I haven't had much time to play the game, really. This weekend should offer more of an opportunity for me to play the game.

Defense mode against Piston Honda where I be. And to comment on the TC, I thought Machoman was much harder than Sandman.

Gotta spam dodge mostly with him, do it just before you think he is going to start hitting you. That's what I remember anyway.

Its an awesome game...and I haven't even tried the motion controls. I'm playing it old school!

Yeah I know. Every time i read through a thread and see a post by you, I stop a momment and think to myself, "did I already reply to this? I don't remember replying to this!" Then I become dizzy andbegin contemplating life and existanceuntil I realize you have a different avatar.

Punch-Out!! is WAY better than Wiisports Boxing. They are not to be compared. Buy Punch-Out and LOVE IT!

I finally beat TD Soda with a TKO in round 3. Now I'm stuck on Bald Bull :(. I mean I got his pattern down, but I don't know how to get stars and I haven't quite figured out the timing of his bull charge. Oh well I will try again tomorrow I guess :P.

Just beat Bald Bull in the World Circuit today. Haven't played Super Mach Man yet. The player I've had the most trouble with was, surprisingly, Great Tiger. That guy was really hard!

Lets just say that I just started today and I have a losing record right now. I'm also currently getting my butt handed to me by Bear Hugger in the second circuit!

I've been using the nunchuck and Wii remote combination. It works fine for me for the most part. My biggest problem with that control schemeis NOT related to motion controls, but rather the analog stick on the nunchuck. Whenever I try to duck by holding the stick down...my character usually moves to the side! That is so annoying that it makes me wanna play the classic way, but I'm actually not accustomed to the 'classic way' since the original Punchout was too difficult for me when I was younger. At that time Iopted to watch others play it.

Nonetheless, Punchout Wii is fun but unforgiveably challenging--I like a good challenge...so thats a good thing!

I agree completely. I have spent TOO many hours playing Time Attack mode in Super Punch-Out!! It's the best thing about these games.

I've beaten Von Kaiser in 43 seconds BTW. I have no proof and I won't be able to get any until monday probably. I work almost the entire weakend.

i'm getting to that part where you go to the store and buy the game. :)

I'm getting pissed off at all the random KOs. I'll be doing relatively well, then suddenly get KO'ed on the first or second knockdown of the round. Frustrating...JordanElek

I'm really starting to get pissed off at those, too. I just lost for the third consecutive time against TD Great Tiger; I got him down like four or five times but then he hits me down and the game's just like "oops sorry you lose lol".

The game doesn't even give you any indication whatsoever that the next one will be your last; I get up perfectly fine at the count of 4 until the game just randomly decides that I've had enough and I'm knocked out. I remember in Super Punch-Out!! that it became progressively more difficult to get up each time you were knocked down, which to me would have been much better.

I'm now on Super Macho Man and haven't really tried to beat him yet.

Yeah, I know about that, but it only works sometimes, and I always just get knocked back down immediately after. :P

hmm, well if that isn't working I guess the best advice I could give is to use the Hologram training till you learn the guys patterns well enough.

I usually just hit the "restart fight" button if it's obvious I'm going to lose. :P

Cheap as hell, but who cares.

Basically you fight 10 characters randomly (you dont know who they are) - this mode also contains the last secret character, but in order to get him, you must at least face him once.

In this mode if you lose three times, you lose the game - and the mode disappears from your profile after you lose.

It happened to me - and I cannot play it again unless I re-do all the normal and title defense mode.

It sucks, I'm pissed - but you guys should know lol.

This is insane and I didn't play it yet. With this, Punch-Out Wii is harder than the NES game. I think it's safe to make at least 2 files. One with normal and title defense mode completed and the other with the Last Stand.
