While I've never played it, almost everyone agrees the game is graphically, technically garbage. Artistically is a different story.
Personally, I enjoyed No More Heroes a lot. It was a different type of game that most people aren't used to seeing. Especially on the Wii. The combat system not reinventing the wheel and the gameplay being arguably repetitive are the main negative points to the game a lot of people say. I personally found nothing wrong with the gameplay or the combat system, I'm one of those few people who enjoyed it as a lot of the other comments I've read on here about it basically say the game is garbage and should be burned at the stake.staindcoldlp
I read more that say a more "it's awesome if you don't have it go buy it immediately" kind of thing. But, cool. Thanks.
Here's my take: The game is good but not nearly as good as everyone makes it out to be. The gameplay can get repetitive, the game is very short (about 10 hours), the framerate is bad, and there are lots of annoying bugs such as extremely bad collision detection. Those are the faults.
That said, it is a very unique game and very entertaining at times. I think it's well worth $30 and deserves a place in every Wii owner's collection but there's tons of games you should buy before this one.

No, they don't. :|
It's the best third party offering on a Nintendo system since Resident Evil 4, in my opinion. 9/10, and possibly makes my top twenty favorite games of all time.
The combat is relatively simple. I mean, nothing about it is really complex, yet it's addictive as hell. I don't know why, but killing has never been so satisfying before. The storyline and dialogue are over the top ridiculous, which is also what I like about. The main song theme of the game is also really catchy. I like it a lot.
Collision detection, technical graphics, side missions, and overworld are all bad. Side missions are just really freaking stupid and boring, but they are only three minutes long. You also have to work your freaking butt off just to get some place to fight more guys. To do this, you either fight... guys, or do a bunch of boring jobs, like lawn-mowing, picking up pineapples, filling up gas tanks, and a bunch of other garbage that is just as dumb as it sounds. Also, the overworld sucks and has no purpose. You can't do anything in it aside from driving from point A to point B. That's all it serves as, and they should've at least made it smaller, so I don't have to go all over the place.
The game definitely has its flaws, but there's really nothing else like No More Heroes. Any Wii owner looking for a change of pace needs to check this game out.

Yea the art makes up for it. If you played Killer 7 you'd understand. The games well worth it though, pick it up.
