How good will Epic Mickey do?

This is the first game this deveoping team has ever made. I don't quite understand the gameplay this game will have yet. And the concept is kinda wierd, but then again this game's concept makes me think of Kingdome Hearts. I'm looking forward to the game's release not because I think it looks awesome but because I'm curious to see what this new developing team can do and I want to see if they'll be a force to reckon with in the gaming market.

Honestly I have little to no idea how this one will go. Could be a 7, could be a 9.5. I would be shocked if it was below a 7 or was a 10. :P

I was right about kirby sucking it failed because i know good games when i see them and Epic Mickey is a really good game.

I voted the second option.

Maybe an 8. Tough to say saleswise because it has a lot of competition during the holidays, like Kirby's Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Black Ops, Golden Eye 007, etc. It'll be a tough fight for sure. I want to get it, but I've already got DKCR, Kirby, and a few others. Hard to get'em all. Looks great though. I hope it sells well.

No, but it is a curse, when literally ALL of your high profile exclusives in the past 2 years (going on 3) never even manage to get a 9.0 (not including Galaxy 2).

I'm not sure how Epic Mickey will do. I wouldn't be surprised at a 7. But I wouldn't be surprised by a 9 either.

I'm really not sure about this one. The Gamespot staff seemed pretty impressed at E3, but even with the awesome concept that it has I doubt it will escape Gamespot's Anti Wii policy. :(

yea sounds like a rushed game all the way to the gameplay. I tried to tell people it was slapped together and the sales figures showed it as most of the kirby fans stayed away.

I'm hoping for AAA or even AA.OreoMilkshake

People of the GAF boards with early copies have basically nothing but negative things to say about it. Not sure that they are the type of gamer that enjoys it but still. I know I will love it.

I was just trying to connect as well. I wanted to see what they were saying.

Those who received a copy of ONM say that Epic Mickey received a 85%. USA Today gave it a 90%. (I never even knew they review games.)

This is what someone on the Nintendo Life forum said after reading the ONM review:

"Got an 85% from ONM which seem to have bagged the first review. 85-89% is their A- type category. Sounds like a solid and interesting platformer in most parts. However it does have its occassional issues which to me make it read like "a high seven" out of ten rather than an 85%. It has outstanding visuals and great replay value - but platforming and the whole premise can be bland/average at times too. Mickey is a poor game character they infer, but the OTHER characters play out well in terms of essence and charm. It also has camera issues sometimes as well as paint aiming problems. I PRESUME the negatives are only occassional, hence the highish mark but its clear it isn't in the same league as Zelda and Mario to be frank'

I assume the Zelda comparison is to do with the action RPG elements (which are mostly join the dots)

Don't get me wrong, the review makes it sound like a largely solid platformer with a nice smidgen of simple RPGism in it, but it appears to be far from "epic"."

It'll be kinda weird for Warren Spector if this game gets only decent reviews because he hyped the game with crazy hyperbole. Well, I'm sure it'll sell like hot cakes.

Have you even played Kirby's Epic Yarn? It's really fun and interesting to see how they made everything out of yarn. And there is replay vaule, some of the items are hidden pretty well and it's not always easy to get gold on all the levels, theres also a ton of mini games. But I guess you have to be a true "gamer" though to fully appreciate different artistic views and concepts :P

And as for Epic Mickey, I think that it will do well sales wise. I'm guessing that Gamespot will score it lower then it deserves since that's basically what they do with all Wii games :roll: It's a day one buy for me though, it looks...Epic :P

No never played it just going by the videos I seen on the game. I guess you gotta be blind to not see what they did to kirby and the holiday rush job they made. They went on record saying they just stuck Kirby in this game. I don't know what a "true gamer" is in your opinion i play video games if thats what your asking but i don't play bad ones. I am not into there style of yarn for the butcher job they did to the Kirby franchise. Fear not as they won't make another game like that because it was the worst selling kirby game ever!!! Now mickey is a good looking game but i probably won't get it day one ill pick it up when its cheaper.

For my gamespot review score guess it probably won't get a 9 and it might not sell well either because nintendo got such a hard to figure out fan base for buying games. They wanted M rated games then when they get them they don't buy them. They wanted a few shooter games and they don't support their own like a Goldeneye or a Conduit but that game was ok so i don't fault them for that but not getting goldeneye come on. Instead they come out to get Cod but everyone does that so you can't really count that. They are a funny bunch and need to bring out the Wii 2 already for HD before sony takes away all there buyers.

It's probably going to get an 8.5 or lower, I highly doubt it will get AAA

I am not sure at all. I see alot of advertisements where ever I go for this game. I'm not sure how this game is received. It'll definately sell more than 500,000 copies tough. Quality, I think it'd score a 7.5 or 8.
