How many lives approximately did you go through? I beat the main story and probably got through like2000 lives, not even joking. This game requires too much patience, after I die a few times, I just want to get through it and I rush, which only makes me die even more... which makes me MAAADDDD!!! It was a good game, but too frustrating. I was probably more angry than I was entertained by this game. :P

Not that hard. Sure, I die a few times on levels, sometimes even a lot of times (when I don't feel like being careful), but it's not like I run out of lives. Haven't gotten to the final "world" yet, but so far it's been great difficulty-wise.

I have beaten every single level even all the secret ones (those are way harder than the normal levels) and guess what? It only gets harder after that!

Oh i've died probably a couple hundred times but quite a few were on purpose, *mainly dieing if i missed a kong letter so i didn't have to restart the level* This is easily one of the hardest wii games I have played.

About halfway done the game and died A LOT, but am playing co-op. Very good game, but so far I am dissapointed when comparing it to past DKC games :(.

I found it pretty hard actually. But, not to the point of you wanting to not play.

Can't possibly be as hard as Donkey kong Country 2: Diddy's Quest. I hated this game with a passion and still do. The hardest one out of all of them in my opinion. 1 and 3 were a piece of cake. I can't wait to play this one.

I've finished the game, and I'm currently going through time trials (this is where I find the game to be really fun).

I didn't go through THAT many lives. Maybe 100 at most? Not sure really. Maybe 50. Didn't really keep track. Couldn't have been more than a hundred I'm sure though.

I go through much less lives if I play alone but, whats the fun in that? There was this one secret level, can't remember what world, but I musta gone through 100 balloons just on that one level.

I find the game much more challenging than say NSMBW. Though with DK I find alot of levels it takes maybe 5 (sometimes even more ) play throughs to get, but then after that you can run through it perfectly everytime after.

I suppose I can see how it could be classed hard in the sense of initial play throughs, but the amount of lives you have is crazy and they're cheap as chips at the shop so getting through the levels eventually is pretty easy. Usually I get through a world in about an hour, on world 6 now

I've died hundreds of times. This game is so addictive, but yet so hard. Only on World 5 at the moment.......haven't played it too much.

I hate those KONG letters sometimes because if you miss a letter, you want to keep trying to get them, but you keep dying on certain ones.

It's pretty hard on some of the rocket barrel and mind cart levels I've died about 60 times before I beat the level.

Overall I didn't find the game THAT difficult. There were just a select few levels that caused me to die 30 times in a row (damn you rocket levels!). Playing the game on reverse mode is another story though (You can only play as DK and get one heart), now that is hard.

If you grew up on nes/snes games like I did, the difficulty level will feel familiar to you. If you haven't the game will probably be very difficult since most games tend to hold your hands these days. Either way, the game is still a blast to play.

I didnt really find it too difficult but then I grew up when the snes was king and games like donkey kong (including difficulty) were common place, so I'm not suprised this blast from the past has the newer generation of gamers a bit stumped :p Its good for you, Ive seen several people go into the game thinking it'll be a cake walk simply because of the fun graphics and the fact that the main characters are monkeys only to have the smile wiped off their faces by the end of the first few stages :p hehe

I agree, when I got DK Country for the SNES, I was like 6 so I only got past the first world. :P

It's a difficult game that'll test your skills, but its not impossible or controller-throwingly hard lol.

No no.DKC 2 was decently challenging . This one is thankfully a lot harder. But after beating Battletoads on the NES for me ,all these games are ...well a breeze.

I'm about half way through the second world since I only got it yesterday and I can't say much, but I didn't get a game over screen once. Sure I died plenty of times, but their are plenty of lifes scattered around the levels so it was really hard for me to get a game over. I can't say much since I'm only at the early worlds and I'm sure it's going to be a lot harder once I go on, but so far it's tons of fun and I think the difficulty is perfect.

Donkey Kong 2: Diddy's kong quest is by far the best of the series. This one is hard, but not THAT hard. I just wish we could use two monkeys like in the other versions, especially since the new multiplayer sucks.
