I want to buy this game, never played the first or second one before. Is the online multiplayer still full of people? What's it like a year after release? Are most of the players on there crazy good veterans?

@rubber-chicken: It is amazing! You can join games quickly, if anything I'd say the player base has only continued to grow rather than die off. Splatoon 2 is a game where even if you are a beginner, you can still contribute to the team, and get top score simply by spreading ink (in turf war mode). Of course don't be intimidated by the high level people, there are still plenty of noobs like me, and the matchmaking is very good. Add to this a whole bunch of free updates with new weapons and maps, along with a kickass singleplayer and expansion and I don't think you'll regret picking it up! :D
Splatoon 2 M.P. is easy. Levels do not matter at least in the non-ranked modes because it is extremely forgiving.
@Solaryellow: Clams are scattered throughout the map, which have to be collected by the players. Each team base has a basket in which the clams must be thrown, however the basket is protected by a barrier and can only be broken by a super clam, which is achieved by collecting 10 clams. After a barrier is broken, players can also dump their clams without having to have a super clam.
First team to bring down the score from 100 to 0 wins.
