I used to play it in arcades, now I have it for the capcom collection, but it's a definite must if you're looking for a challenge of kid icarus stature.

i have never played the snes version. However there was a ghoul n' ghosts game for the sega genesis when it first came out & the game was really fun but also really hard.

It was kind of like the orginal prince of persia game. which was incredibly hard.

I probably will not download this game. I hope they will come out with the sega genesis version.

One of my all time favorites.  But be warned:  It's probably one of the hardest games ever to complete.  You've got 3 lives to make it all the way to the end, if you die 3 times, you go back to the very beginning of the game.  And it's a very long, difficult haul to the end.
I've never beaten it.  This game would take some MAJOR dedication to compete.  But it'll always be one of my all time favorites.
Bottom line:  You need to be a Jedi to beat this game.  But it's a must-have classic.

See, the reason it's so hard is that it was an arcade game and I guess they never tweaked the difficulty on the snes version, when you keep dying it was supposed to keep you putting in more money.

Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts? Oh man, only one of the finest and most challenging 16 bit platformers ever made.

In terms of difficulty?  It makes the Xbox Ninja Gaiden feel like Pong.  Its one of the great challenges in video gaming.  Only made it to the last boss once...

There was no arcade version of SG&G. It's difficult purely because it's a challenging game.

The NES version was nearly impossible. There was one part a little late in the game were this gargoyle just kicked your butt. If you could kill him you had a chance to get past the stage but man he was tough. The SNES was slightly easier but still one of the all time toughest platformers.
