of the 2 years i have been on this site. Super Smash Brothers is always on everyones want list for the DS. why dont you just keep you mind open and enjoy what you got?JediBmoney
Well thats a stupid thing to say. First off, I said in my first sentence I enjoy what I got, and second of all, its not a crime to want a game. If you want to stay in the past, go ahead, but I like to have new slews of games for my DS.
because smash bros. is a console game. and since the ds can't take as much as consoles it would be like taking a step backward. just enjoy the console versions. if they were to make something similar i wish it would be a new title with new characters and i kinda want it to be 3D but i spose sidescroling would be ok too

Uh yeah, there are numerous petitions?
yay lets argue about smash bros. DS for the umpteenth time.grafkhunOh my goodness, this is starting to remind me of the old days when there used to be 30 Super Smash Bros. DS threads everydays asking for a SSB DS and saying how it would be "so cool". Those were horrible times...Honestly, they only need 1 thread for that.

That was harsh...
But true...

Yes but making a topic that has been created a hundred times before could be considered disruptive posting, if not simply just annoying. The ironic thing is you want new games for your DS, yet what you want is little more than a rehash of a game that already has three versions of it.
New franchises before another sequel please.

Actually there DS is perfectly capable of handling something like Smash Bros without it looking like total crap. Don't let the graphics friendly games you've seen deter you from seeing that there is some power in that little rectangle. Tony Hawk, Viewtiful Joe, Ninja Gaiden and Mario 64 are examples of the DS's ability.
Super Smash would be awesome.
But agreed with an earlier post. I want a mario tennis DS. i know a release is ineveitable but mario tennis gba didn't come out till 2005.

at last one agreed on my idea
i want to see donkey kong's power shot in 3d.... that would be sweet!
Ah yes, it would be so great to have a Smash Bros. title for the DS. But alas, we are at the mercy of the gaming gods who know what's best for us and give us what they want tokeep us happy. And what do we do? We complain. Every last game that hasever come out has its flaws andthere will always be those ready to arguethat it's the greatest or worst game out there. So what's my point?Nintendo knows we wanta Smash Bros. title...look how popular all the others havebeen...but they have their reasons for not developing it yet. Let's look at it this way...let's say that Pac-Man was the only game on the market. People love it, but they want it portable. Ok, the company holds off producing anything new because the people have said they want portable. Pac-Man portable is now developed. Oh wait, now we want it faster and with better mazes. Ok, the company produces Pac-Man Turbo instead of creating something new. The people have spoken once again! More Pac-Man with bigger levels, better AI, and a licensed soundtrack! Now we're rocking out to Falco whileghosts are kicking our asseson a massive game map! But you know what? It's still Pac-Man. My point here is that you can't develop new games if you keep rehashing old titles. We wouldn't have Paper Mario (for the Wii) if he never took the jump to 3D in the first place (Mario 64). And what about Metroid?? There would be no Metriod Prime if they never strayed from the original formula. You have to try something new to be able to develop thenext revolutionary title. How many of you would seriously play another top-down Zelda game? Many of you will say "hell yeah, Zelda rocks!" because it'scool to be retro. But you know when you think ofyour top 10 favorite games, you aren't thinking of NES, Atari 2600, orSega Master System. You aren't thinking of the ORIGINAL Legend of Zelda. You're thinking Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker, because we all know that no matter how cool the NES was, we'd all rather be playing Twilight Princess or Phantom Hourglass. So keep dreaming of the day when that title you want so badly finally hits the development list, and by all means keep discussing your ideas, but don't be crushed just because a titile doesn't make the jump to another system or get the update that you want. Hell, if I had my way, I'd have a Mega Man Anniversary collection for the DS with all 6 of the original NES Mega Man titles with the graphics of Mega Man & Bass (GBA) and I would be happpier than a tornado in a trailer park. Damn, did I really just say that? Well, you get what I mean...MarkedByAshes

Yes, it's called reading...and it has been known to induce strain on those who don't do it often. Take tylenol for any headaches, midol for any cramps and you'll be fine. :D

New paragraphs make walls of text easier to read.
Although at this point it is surprising they haven't just given the fans what they want, its not like the game wouldn't sell huge, still I prefer something new.

What a nerd. Anyways, yeah. SSB DS would be awesome. :p
Because most of the time, fighting games suck on hand-helds.LoserMike
i'll just stick with mario tennis ds
Here's some logic out of left field.
When they first made the DS they made sure not to call it a gameboy because if it failed it would surely tarnish the legendary Gameboy name.
Super Smash Brothers has a legendary name, lets settle for Jump Super Stars (yes I know it was made by ganbarian. But it more than fills the need.
Again, that's some twisted logic I just made up to ease your mind.
"mario tennis brings happiness "
yussit does.
i wantjump super stars in english though...why theballs isnt it in english. American version now!

Oh please, the horror of seeing the first page of the DS forums. I still have nightmares about that.

... you had me until Metroid Prime. I'd sell your soul for a fresh sidescrolling metroid on the DSpersonally. n_n
I think you could argue that by keeping Smash Bros on Wii, it helps differentiate the DS from the Wii. If they port over an old Smash Bros...that'd be like Sony porting all their playstation stuff to PSP.
But yeh, it ensures that the two consoles can offer separate experiences, not just have one rehash the other.
Also, I don't think they'd want to release the 64 Smash because it would conflict with a possible Virtual Console release
Of course, they COULD make an entirely different Smash Bros, but I'm not sure how different one could make it.
