its laughable how people say 25-30 hours wth are the odds there going to give us that you guys can keep thinking that but u no its going to end up alot shorter
Sup11722
you say shorter i say more.
SM64 took like 30 hours to beat (i was young but whatever it will take 20 hours now)and just to get 70 stars. i dont think i ever got all of them at all that would take way to long. i say 20 to beat and 35 to get all.
I doubt it will take more than 10 hours, since this game won't cheaply add extra gameplay by making you go back into older levels to get things. It's level based, like old times.SoulSlayer_
It a system just like Mario 64, where you did not always have immediate access to a star the first time through a level. I dont know if it will be as long as Twilight Princess, because the travel adds alot of time to that game, something that you dont have to do in Mario. So I would say about 30 hours.
15-20 hours.
12 hours for me.
I always beat games fast even though I don't try.
TP took me 25 hours.
MP3 took me 12 hours.
Both those games at 100% but not the Poes in TP. (That's just annoying :S)

I didn't use one. You can use the observatory in Skytown to have all the items marked on your map.

duckman is right again. metroid was really short for being a metroid game and mario galaxy at its fastest will probably at least 20 hours

Gee whiz what are you guys doing? It took me about 22 hrs to beat MP3 with only 84% complete--it would've been longer for me if I wanted to do get it at 100%. Then again I don't have all day to be playing games. I often have to stop, and the next time I play I have to recalibrate what the heck I need to do or figure out what'snext. I haven't beaten TP yet, but I'm sure when I'm done with it I'll be well over 50 hrs--once again without 100% completion.
I don't rush through games for the sake of saying--I'm the fastest. I just enjoy them and take my time (even though I don't have time). Which is why I haven't beaten TP yet and I had it since February. I keep losing interest to finish and buying new games all the time doesn't help.
With my track record with games, Galaxy should take me between 25-30 hrs unless its actcually shorter than what I'm interpreting from info on the game.

I don't rush, I play at my own pace. What do you want me to do, stand for 25 hours so I can "enjoy" the game?
I personally think it be around 30 to beat and 40 to get all the stars.
This is based on figuring out the puzzles and just plain exploration time. ( you cannot tell me that your gonna zip through a game full of such vast and colorful detailed environments)
I do think mario 64 lasted me well over 50hrs in playtime for everything.

No, smarty pants (I'd use another phrase, but we're being watched). I'm just saying what I do when I play games like Metroid and Zelda. No, I don't stand around...I guess it just takes me longer to figure certain things out. Like I said before, I get interrupted alot, because I have something called a 'life'. So I get sidetracked whenever the next time I pick up and play.

Who said I'm getting mad? This is just what I do, when it comes to games. You do you and I'll do me. Back to topic. I'm looking forward to Galaxy and I hope the adventure isn't short lived. Although it took me 22 hrs to beat the main quest in Metroid, I still wanted the main quest to be longer--I'm not that interested sidequests unless I consider them worthwhile.
Super Mario 64 is my favorite game of all time. I believe I've spent 200+ hours playing it over a period of 8 years. If Super Mario Galaxy is anything like Super Mario 64, I expect to play around 50+ hours. One thing I did while playing SM64 was I would collect every coin in every level, something I plan to do for SMG.
I'll be satisfied if it's as long as super mario 64, but I'm hoping for longer.
And whats with the complaining about collecting things? That's what you do in this type of game, in fact its entirely based around collection. Last time I checked Mario wasn't know for its deep complex story or its fantastic battle system or anything.

Nice job making assumptions based off of nothing. Just because you supposedly have a "life," and he apparently doesn't somehow, doesn't mean it should take you longer to beat games. You just suck at them. It's okay. I do, too. Twilight Princess took me fifty hours to beat, and I only had fifteen hearts at the end of it.
I'd say it'll take around 20 hours.
Also, I could probably beat Super Mario 64 in five hours now. I played the crap out of that game. It's my most played game, I bet. I wish they recorded the play time. That would make it a lot more fun. Seeing how long it takes to do things and such. I got 120 stars about nine years ago.
