Hi everyone, I just have to start off by saying I love the DS and find the library of

games to be quite impressive. I'm 46 and have the original Phat DS and it still

is working fine. I originally bought it for my daugter and myself but

she is no longer into video games and I am the one that plays it. We also have a gamecube.

My daughter can't comprehend why an adult like myself would play video games. I feel no

embarrassment over playing video games and to be honest have felt that some games I play

really help improve my memory. Just wanted to know how many other adult gamers like

myself are playing the DS. Thanks for listening.

Not exacly much of adult gamer (as the OP is), but I am an adult in terms of laws..

It is good to always hear about people playing games even till they retire, thats for sure what I am personally planning to do

as gaming has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old..

Aslong as we enjoy having fun in a not such serious fashion, games will always be for everyone... and not something preserved only for the young..

Gaming can work as medicine too, so it is best for people to take that opportunity than to instead feel bored and lonely or share it with someone..So all ages should be open and accepting to the joys of videogames!

44 and gaming since my Dad bought us an Atari 2600 and a Commodore 64 many moons ago.

So much more interesting and stimulating than watching TV.

Also had a Wii from day 1. Grat fun for everyone.

Yeah, youre right!

Of course you shouldn't feel embarrassed if you like it. Also, gaming is an art. Out there we have games with excellent music, literature, picture and more! I find games more interesting than reading a book, since you can read, see pictures, movies and also interact. I'm 21 now and I'm graduating at English Foreign Language Major and my final work is about literature in games. I wanna show everyone how great and wonderful is this world of games.

I'm 29 and still gaming. Started when I was eight or nine years old. Some people close around me do think I'm crazy but they just don't understand what gaming is and how beautiful games can be. It's quite the same as to love reading books or watching movies. But I think there's gonna be a whole new era coming up with more and more adult gamers so the dominant frame of gaming being childish will be faded away by an alternative. Nintendo's choice to reach more and more families will be part of it too.

I've been gaming since the original Nintendo. I still play my DS Phat along with all my friends who range between the ages of 21 - 30. I even turned my love for gaming into a career. Now I enjoy making them as much as I enjoy playing them. I'm 21 by the way, not as old as many gamers out there. Even my xbox live friends list is full of adults who still game.

It's funny how the different hobbies follow the same development. When people started to collect stamps in the XIXth century, it was considered childish. When the first movies came out, it was pretty much the same reaction at first.

Video games were mostly an arcade thing for many gamers in the 70s and the 80s. When the home consoles became more popular, it was intented for kids. The first real "adult" games like Phantasmagoria, with a mix of violence, occult, gore and even sex, were an exception.

I stick to video games because of their time management flexibility and because I'm not satisfied with the movies that come out and today's TV shows. Like every business, the video game industry is always trying to conquer new markets. Because of that, I'm expecting more diversified and original games over the years to come since a large part of the adult population and the women seem to be the video games industry's biggest challenge.

I'm 20 and I've been a gamer since I was 4. The first game I ever played was Contra for the NES and I've been hooked ever since:D I've had a NES, Genesis, Gameboy Pocket, PS1, N64, PS2, X-Box, Game Cube, GBA, DS, Dreamcast, 360, and a Wii and I'll still go back and play games from all those systems. I'll be a gamer to the end.

Thanks so much for everyone who responded to my post. It's great

to know the ages for the adults who play DS varies and it's nice to know

the systems that people have. I've been into

gaming since the original Pong game. During the 80's I had a Sega system.

In the 90's had an original Gameboy and a GBA. Currently play the

DS and occasionally the Gamecube. I'm also glad to see

more women (since I'm one) playing the DS. The DS forum is comprised

of very nice people who mutually enjoy the experience of playing the DS and

I'm someone who will never get tired of playing my DS

I'm not as old as some of you all, but I'm 23 and I play games. I don't use my DS as often as I used to, but I still use it nevertheless.

27 here, been playing games for awhile, first console was Pong (a black little box with two controllers attached to it that connected to the tv) It had 3 game modes, 1 player, 2 player and practice. I didn't have many games growing up cause they were expensive but we always had a console for each generation. I didn't really get into gaming until I started working and was able to purchase games myself. I think I will be gaming as long as there are games to be played.

I have all of you beat so far. I'm 51 and still gaming. I started playing the original Pong. i had an Atari 2600, 5200 and played various games on PC and Mac for years. I currently have a PSP, DS Lite and an Xbox 360. I'm not much good at the very twitchy FPS type games though I dabble in them. I'm much better at the slower "thinking" type games but I have fun and happily pass the time with whatever I happen to play. I have a feeling there are more than a few of us out there but of course we make up an extremely small minority of all the gamers out there. Nonetheless, I'm not planning on hanging up my joystick or stylus anytime soon.

Glad to hear from a gamer around my age. Yes you do have me beat in regards to some of the systems

you mentioned playing. I think that the last few years have found more and more adults who would never

in the past consider playing a video game, buying and playing the DS and I think that one reason is the

Next Generation games for this system. I tend to enjoy games across various categories, have some Phoenix

Wright, Age of Empires, Elite Beat Agents, Zelda, Trauma Center, Professor Layton, Metroid Pinball, and much more .

I'm not gonna reveal my age, but I will say that adults have the same right to enjoy playing video games (its absolutely NOTHING to be embarrassed about). I've been playing video games since the GB (Game Boy), Genesis, Atari, NES, and others after it, and I love them all, each person has their own taste and hobbies, video games happen to be one of the biggest ones, so I say it again: video games are for anyone (depending on the rating of course, but I speak of playing video games).

Sincerely:

-V

I may only be 18, but I can say for sure I'll be gaming for the rest of my life. Started gaming when I was 4 and I had an NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and right now have a Wii and an original DS.
