How many of you have the yellow tinted screen?

I just bought a white ds today and got two perfect screens. My friends also got a ds and none of them had any problems. Did nintendo fix the problem?

It happens when a different material(cheaper) is used to make the screens of the ds. People were complaining about it near christmas last year because nintendo may have used cheaper parts for the holiday season.

Well these "yellow tinted screens" are just dirty sreens (yes I had them) just get a paper towle and wet it with some water and clean it, I don't know why people don't think of that lolWill47

There not just dirty screens, they were an actual defect. The black ds lites had yellow tinted screens right when they came out of the box mine had a tint, and the white ds lites had pink which im pretty sure can't becalleddirty, one of the ds's at my local Gamestop had a pink tint.

Thats just not true. It is well documented on the internet that some versions of the DS have a tinted lower screen. Mine has it however it is really not that noticable except on the start-up screen.

Same with me It not very noticable unless the screen is really white. I just decided to live with it and not go throught he tedious process of replacing my lite.

It usually happens with Onyx Black Lites; I've had two and both had it. My crippled DS Lite that I own (black) has it, although not as much as the other one I had and my cousin's, which looks really yellow.

I'm not sure if the Crimson/ Onyx blend has this 'problem' as well. Many people say they don't even notice it, but I do, and it bugs me.

Fingerprints and dirt can cause a yellow discolouration. But cheaper plastics are more opague and cause the tint.
