How about a poll? I like it and give it a 7.5, it feels extremly rushed, some features are missing like browser, there's no real online support (you can't even message your friends and last time I checked no title in the VC). Also the weak battery is unaceptable and I'll replace it with any bigger battery a 3rd party sells. Also Nintendos support of launch titles is rather weak
I like mine, yes.
As far as ratings go...
Today: 7/10 at best. Poor launch lineup, no browser or eShop.
In June, when the major updates and games hit? Probably more like a 9 or 10.
....:lol:I love mine, I love it so much I'm going to marry it and have a huge family

This. Same here. Dont be me wrong I love my 3ds, but how could you get it a 9.5 when its missing some key features still?7.5 maybe higher
If you don't absolutely need one than maybe wait until the major games come out and the browser update. Or wait until the new model, there is obviously some room for improvement. Overall, a good handheld. Especially if you are a Nintendo fan.
I would give it a 5/10. But I didn't like DS consoles to begin with. So it might have a little bias.
How about a poll?
ArchoNils2
since the TC only has 7 posts, i'm pretty sure he doesnt even know how to make a poll
I love mine and give it a 9. Sure the launch lineup is weak but I have been having a blast with Pilotwings. Excellent game. Also why is everyone so upset that the internet browser is not available yet? Do you guys really surf the internet on your DS? I tryed it once on my XL and it was just too slow. I really want the eshop and VC but I could care less about the browser.
The browser is not a big deal to me but messaging friends and the eshop are major improvements to me that are worth an extra 2 points on my scale.I love mine and give it a 9. I agree that these are big things and the fact that they aren't ready at launch just shows that this launch may have been a bit rushed. I would dock about a point for them.
I like it a lot. It's very sleek, the home menu is a nice feature, and the 3D is a neat add-on. Samurai Warriors Chronicles looks great in 3D to be honest.
It's give it a solid 8.5 right now.

I like that you called 3D an add-on. Hopefully developers will make it a bigger part of games in the future.
I just got mine in the mail today, AR cards and Face Raiders and the first viewing of 3D make it an 8 for me. The OK GO video was kinda cool for a band I dont listen too. Should be getting my copy of Street Fighter soon, thatll most likely bump it up to a 9. I dont see many of the problems people have. No black screen, no top screen wobble, I think it looks and feels amazing (where do people get the idea its bulky??), the battery isnt gonna be a problem for me cus ill usually play it by my laptop and can leave it charging with my usb cable, dont care about the browser cus id rather use my Evo4G or laptop for internet.
10/10 I love the 2 games i got with it. Nintendogs and super street fighter 4. The system is very very impressive with the ar games and faceraiders. All I am waiting for is the new games coming out for it such as Zelda oot and more. Also that massive system update in May.
The way I see it, people that bought the 3DS right away are beta users. With only a few launch games and not even an online store to work if it certainly feels unfinished. The overall experience however is great. It really feels like a console in a handheld. The 3D can work, but you really have to hit that sweet spot and the online is always playable, some slowdown from time to time, but always playable.
I just got mine and it's still going through it's initial charge phase. I played around with it for a few seconds and I like the size and feel of the handheld, so that gets a 10... but as far as the presentation and whatnot, I'll find out later.loveless9The size is almost exactly the same as the ds lite/DSi. In fact I am using the DS lite slip cover case I already had to store it. I think nintendo found their handheld sweetspot in the size with the DS lite.
9 / 10 for me. The inbuilt features are great, free games are gimmicky but fun (no Wii Sports contender). The Mii creator is average but the ability to import from Wii makes that more useful. Connecticity is great, presentation is great, ease of use is great. All great.

This right here and it was worth every penny and the game libary will be amazing within one year.
imo I give the system it self a 9 only because it wasnt released with all the features it was meant to have installed on it yet forcing us to do a SW update every few months. and the fact that some seem to be having issues with defects in their system (some of which a SW update fixed, but still) .
In a way I feel nintendo did a rush job is releasing the 3ds and should have waited till everything was installed that was meant to be and checked the systems better for glitches..
However I do love my 3ds and wouldn't trade it for anything.. (lmao beside i could never go back to my ds lite now that my hubby has taken control of it and made it his own)
on the games aspect i give nintendo a 5, I admit there were a few decent games like SSF ans SWC and Nintendogs that was released at launch but imo they should have thrown in some well known and well played titles like a Zelda or mario or FF or a DQ game with the launch.
So far I only bought 2 3ds games, SSF cause I so love fighting with Chun-Li (have yet to be beaten on any system when i use her) and Nintendogs+cats for those days I just want a game to kick back and relax with.
I really enjoy the 3DS. I think the 3D works really well and even though it has a narrow viewing angle, once you get used to it its not bad. The ar cards and other stuff included in the system are pretty cool and definitely fun. Battery life is short, but I never play more than three hours in a given day so its not a big deal for me. The only thing I am disappointed about is the eshop and browser not being up yet, but they are coming so I'll just have to be patient. Overall very good handheld to which I would probably give an 8.5 to at this point. Now I just need Devil Survivor Overclock and I'm set.:D
i dont think too many people are going to admit that a $250 device was a waste of their money, but instead force themselves to like it and defend their purchase (hence the reason for SW). but in all seriousness I like it so far, unlike others here i dont have a DS so its great
I dont have a DS eigther. I sold my DSi to put money toward my 3ds. I love it just feel it was unfinished with most of the online stuff missing. After the update I can say it will easily be a 9/10.i dont think too many people are going to admit that a $250 device was a waste of their money, but instead force themselves to like it and defend their purchase (hence the reason for SW). but in all seriousness I like it so far, unlike others here i dont have a DS so its great

I love my 3ds, warts and all. It's not perfect but it's good enough for me. From 1 to 10, I'll give it an 8. When the great games start rolling out and when the massive update in May goes live then I'll give it a 10.
Fair point. I've never owned a DS before so I'm enjoying titles like Prof layton, Pokemon, LoZ, FF Rev Wings & Dragon Quest for the first time.i dont think too many people are going to admit that a $250 device was a waste of their money, but instead force themselves to like it and defend their purchase (hence the reason for SW). but in all seriousness I like it so far, unlike others here i dont have a DS so its great

What are the DS title issues you guys are talking about? Mine play full screen no worries. Actually the top screen has thin black lines on the sies but that's just because the 3DS has a bigger screen right?
I love my 3DS and I really think it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. My only problem with it is of course the software but everyone knows that launch lineups always suck. I bought it for the potential and I stick by my desision. Overall 8.5 until it gets good games and the May update.
i like it a lot. i wouldn't have bought it if i didnt :P
and i never owned the ds so this is like double wammy for me lol
Chickan_117
it has black bars because the ds screen ratio is 1:1(ie. proportional).
as you can see, the top screen on the 3ds is alot wider than the bottom screen.
therefore, the top screen has to make those black bars in order to maintain that 1:1 screen ratio that ds had.
on the ds, the top and bottom are proportional in size.
If You already own a DS Lite,i or XL I would say wait for awhile before buying it just due to the fact apart from the 3d there isn't anything massively different so perhaps waiting for more games and the price to drop wouldn't be a bad idea although I do think it's a great console and if you don't own any of the above I would recommend it.. This is of course just an opinion and you could still buy it now even owning 1 or all of the above and still be happy just trying to save you some dosh. 9/10
