$250, I got lucky and found one in some country town Wal-Mart with a population of 1500, most of the people would rather go fishing than play Wii so I took it off their hands.
I got it for $250 or whatever the retail price is. I didn't even have a problem finding one. Shortly after launch I just walked into target and picked one up. lucky I guess.
I got mine for $279.99 off of Ebay. You're exaggerating. They're not $500 on Ebay unless it's a huge bundle. The most I've seen was $320 for the core bundle including Wii sports. I say this because I dont want people discouraged from looking for a Wii on Ebay. With the Wii being sold out at most if not all retail stores and online, your best bet is Ebay or Craigslist. You just have to look for it diligently.
I got it in February of 2007 over ebay for about $300. Yes, I was getting desperate and just shelved out all that money because I was frusterated after waiting in three lines and not getting one. It's so stupid how Nintendo just rushed out the console to compete with the PS3 without having nearly enouth Wiis in supply...

I agree. My friend just got his Wii from Craigslist for $300. He got the system, rarely used by the owner, with an extra remote and nunchuck, Super Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Prime 3.

I don't think it was rushed. They just weren't anticipating how much of a huge success it would be. Nobody was.
