Super Mario Galaxy is my #1 Wii game. It's sharp controls, and still the king of graphics for this innovative, addicting platformer is such a worthy purchase. Although MP3 isn't an FPS, it would by far the best FPS like title, a must buy even if it does lack multiplayer.

I have TONS of videogames and i am obsessed with them, and i can say without question that Super Mario Galaxy is my all-time favorite game. That's how good it is. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was really good too, but pales in comparison to SMG.

Metroid lacking multiplayer is a good thing. That's like complaining Zelda is only single player. To answer the question, they are both in the top 5 games on Wii, with Galaxy at the top of the tree. You'll love them both.

These two games are funny to me. They are both great games, two of the best on the Wii. However, I can't get around to finishing them. I have almost 60 stars in Galaxy and I got it a year ago. I am also about 12 hours into MP3 and have not picked it up in a long time. I don't know why, they are 2 great games just sitting there. Probably because I am not into Platformers and FPS these days as I am into RPG's. My taste in games has changed to me really wanting a deep story and MP3 and Galaxy do not have that as much. Still, these are must-play games.

I am like this too... I need a good story was bored with Galaxy for that reason and others (like easiness & linearity.) I also put some hours into MP3 and then put it down for a long time. Actually, I got it at launch, played a little bit, but didn't come back to it till this summer. But when I did, I simply couldn't switch out the disk. I was absolutely hooked on it after not really being able to get into it at first. I highly suggest that you give it another shot and see if you don't find yourself in the same position. Perhaps it was because when you vigilantly scan stuff, you eventually build up a much deeper story than the one presented as the motivator for your action, especially as you're exploring Elysia and the abandoned ship.

Oh, no doubt scanning everything (which I have done for all the MP's) opens up a pretty cool back story but for some reason, just reading is not the same as seeing the cut scenes or story unfolding in front of you like in most good RPGs. I too got the game at launch, played a bit, put it down for awhile, got back into it last winter and loved it, then put it down for a few more months, then picked it up again, and put it down and have not touched it in a few months. Very weird phenominon cuz everytime I play it I really like it.

Prime is a great game, but i got frustrated and put it down for like 6 months, then i just started over and beat it in a week. I wish now that i never stopped playing it. It doenst need multiplayer, decent enough of a story(over the 3 games) but a great adventure game, not FPS. SMG is the best 3-d mario, no matter what people say about mario 64. I loved 64, but SMG is way better. Great mix of 2-d and 3-d platforming. Has plenty of linear and open levels. Little too easy, but what mario game is hard??? SMG should be the 1st one you play, you wont want to put it down.

If you look closely, you'll see things outside of cutscenes that dramatise the story (imo more effectively than the cutscenes) like for example, if you look at her reflection on the inside of the glass on her helmet, you'll notice that gradually throughout the game, her face becomes more and more marred with veins pulsing with that blue phazon. It's pretty dramatic. I think the phenomenon you note is due to compelling gameplay but lacking compelling plot developement. You know what's going to go down pretty much and there's not really and interest in how the story will resolve. You know the "plot twists" (omg the phazon makes the hunters go bad! You're going to have to fight them! Dark Samus is behind it! What a surprise!) so even though playing the game feels good, you lack motivation to play on. To tell you the truth, increasing my percentage and getting all the expansions was sufficient motivation for me because years of playing games has cultivated a deep-rooted instinct to collect things and has trained me to grab anything that's not attached to the terrain and attempt to store it in my inventory.

On Metroid Prime 3 (my FAVORITE game), immediately put the controls on ADVANCED!!! A lot of people who say they don't like the controls have it on NORMAL mode. The advanced controls are FAR superior!!!

Great choice, Galaxy has addictive, star-collecting gameplay that keeps you coming back. Prime has a better story that keeps you wanting to see what the next level is like.

Super Mario Galaxy is incredible...by far one of the best games to come out in the past 10 years

Being a huge Metroid Fan and loved Prime 1 and 2, i was pretty disappointed for a few reasons (check my review)...but for newcomers its really good.

Metroid Prime 3 is in my honest opinion the best game on the Wii, followed closely by Super Mario Galaxy. Both are great games though, you can't go wrong with them.

Super Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game I've ever played.Metroid Prime 3 is great, too. As far as accessibility is concerned,it is easier to get into than the other games in the franchise, but it does take a little while to ramp up (i.e. the beginning is boring).
