Is there enough similarities or is it too different? I loved Brosnan and I like Craig as well so this is fine with me.
Anyway, what are your opinions guys?

There are some good nods to the original in the main game, and some of the mechanics are back in the multiplayer, but other than that, it's pretty different. I think it suits the same kind of gamer who liked GE back in the day, though. It does a really good job of giving you the choice to play it like GE or COD, whichever you prefer. So you can sneak around and silent kill everyone if you want, or you can run and gun your way from checkpoint to checkpoint.
It has its moments, mainly because its bond, but IMO its not nostalgic enough. It is almost a different game really. Split Screen is probably pretty good with character choices, paintball mode, and more, but I never had anyone to play split screen with. They should have kept weapon sets rather than CoD loadouts :(. It kind of baffles me why they made the game a bit more like CoD, rather than like Halo or Timesplitters (which are more like PD and GE).
Have yet to play it.

On-topic: It's not the same at all. Also, Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan.

But I wanted to. Sorry I didn't add to the discussion but I wanted to post.
For me it does have a bit of nostalgia to it but overall it's such a different game, other than the nods in the direction to Rares original that factor wears off rather quick, but saying that it's a really high quality game and should be played more for those reasons much like the COD games but the game engine really suits the James Bond style too, would love to see Eurocom make one more James Bond game on the Wii too and improve further and just add more for the multiplayer and maybe more challenges too other than time trials in the single player campaign. Slightly ironic in a way though that the FPS that the N64 was most remembered by was Goldeneye and now it's possible that the same could happen on the Wii, does go to show what a good exclusive FPS can be like though if the developers try.
There are a few nods to the old game like first area in the dam level and the bathroom thing in the facility albeit, you don't shoot him in the head though. It has most of the levels the N64 game had minus the levels that did not relate to the move such as the silo and caverns levels. There is only one surface and bunker level instead of two. The levels take a long time. They each take about a half hour to an hour to finish. The game took me 10 hours the first time. Even though there is not that much in common with the N64 version, the game is worth it. You don't earn cheats that I know of which kind of blows and the statue park level happens after the archives, streets, and train levels, which does not make sense.
All the characters look different. You play as daniel craig instead of pierce. Natalya, Janus, and Ouromov all look different. Boris is not in the game at all, and therefore he must not have been invincible after all. One more thing. You can play on a difficulty setting called classic 007. This mode goes back to the old health and armor meters system instead of health regeneration.
I highly recommend this game. One of the best 3rd party efforts on Wii.
It's completely different, which is a good thing because the original has aged horribly.Rocky32189
Weapon sets and awesome levels have not aged :P.

Having something to say which equals nothing is still better than having a wrong opinion that I expect someone will eventually will have in this topic. Please Log In to post.
