You are reading this directly from a review with no idea of what it means, yet you STILL can't spell "tacked"??? The controls are fine...not a huge fan of shaking the nunchuk for the spin attack but it's serviceable. The pointing mechanism is nice.

Everything is fine except the sword action which is the main complaint, its unresponsive and feels wrong. But it was a last minute decision after E3, it jus wasn't implimented well. All other controls feel fine.

i dont know what tact-on is, but Zelda's controls are tacked on. What do you mean how tacked on are they? They are tacked on. That's like asking how male are you? You are either male or female.

On a scale of 1-10 1 being "WTF they are not tacked on" and 10 "WTF is wrong with Nintendo?!?!?" about a 4.
EDIT: That is only for the sword fighting part. It is somewhat unresponsive at times, that is why I gave it 2 points and another 2 points for feeling somewhat cheap. The aiming is very responsive and intuitive.

Honestly, I don't want to go back to a standard control pad. I love the way the game controls, and I think it obliterates the old style of control.

There's nothing tacked on about the accuracy of aiming. One could say the sword control is, but I still love them.

They really arent that bad. I thoght they were cool and felt very natural, Occasionall, not very often the sword controls would be a bit off, but it was rare, at least I noticed.

The controls aren't fine, some people don't understand that the sword doesn't match their movements. I'm also surprised that those people can turn the Wii on let alone play the game.

You swing the controller for each strike that you'd normally hit a button for. So in a case where you'd press the button three times you'd swing the controller three times.

Just as responsive but takes a little bit of the boredom out of the game when doing it on the Wii.

Do you mean "are fine"? Because if not, you kinda argued against yourself.

The Sword is an annoyance, sometimes it won't even register you've swung.  Aiming is quick, but I've seen videos of people jst as quick with the GC version.

I loved TP. I had no idea what Jeff was talking about. The laser was a little imprecise, but it was functional. It's not like it KILLED the game.

Oh, yeah, I gave TP a 9.7(check my review). A 40-hour minimum adventure game deserves nothing short of a 9.0.

As for you people that disliked the nunchuks motion sensor, you're lazy ;-p

I gave TP a 9.7 as well because the controls didn't bug me that much but when I played it, I would swing too fast and it would seem unresponsive which really can be an issue.

I believe I mentioned something about that in my review. You're in the middle of leaping between to distances and (moving) the "Wiimote" could cause you to do a downward slash, which could really screw you up.

Controls feel great. I saw zelda playing on GC at my friends house but i was didnt want to play it. I was afraid it would try to shake the controller. And point it. And shake both halves at the same time in different directions and last time i checked, that doesnt work on GC controllers..

Isn't that more of a case of getting used to the new controls?
The way that people had to learn not to hit the shoulder buttons accidently when they were added to controllers?

At first they felt a little off, but now that I'm far in the game I preffer it quite a bit. All the combat stuff they throw in, like the sheild bash, feels great. The normal sword fighting has a bit of delay on it so it feels weird at first, but now I find myself kinda flicking the controller whenever I play OoT, so I'd say it's a success and works great. Oh, and the aiming is a HUGE plus, especially for horseback.

Yeah the pin point accuracy when using the bow or slingshot is fantastic. Better then any of the other zeldas for sure. The sword play is a bit of a mixed bag. Most of the time it feels great, but doing the spin attack by shaking the nunchuck sometimes isnt as responsive as you'd like. All in all I have more fun swiping the wii-mote then pushing a button. Going back to Ocarina of Time, mashing the B button to use the sword feels boring...

True. Though I don't think it's quite as easy to hit shoulder buttons as it is to accidently move your Wiimote during play. Trust me, the controls weren't the reason TP didn't get a perfect 10 by me. I'd rather play the Wii version of TP all the way, so don't get mah wrong here.

Sorry bout that. I am not bashing it; I am just deciding whether I should borrow my friend's GC version or get the wii version.

I feel they're far superior to the gamecube controls.  As people stated the sword swing is unresponsive, but to me only at first.  I then got the hang of it and it worked really well.  The pointing mechanism for the bow and arrow and other things works like a charm, aswell as being able to use the bow, hookshot, sword etc on horseback.

IMO if you want the full experience, TP on the wii is the way to go.

I feel the same way. I like the new way of playing better than the old way. It makes the old way, even the sword fighting feel dead to me now, not tacked on for me at all. I think the sword fighting adds a level of immersion not found by just pushing a button. You feel like your really giving it to them every once in a while, a real physical experience.
