Really? that's basically how you play every mario game. I never have my thumb off the "1" button when I'm playing soo that I am always running. You're going to have to practice pressing both of those buttons at the same time

That's something I learned how to do in the original Super Mario Bros, because you'd have to hold B then hit A to run and jump. The only thing that can help you is practice, and maybe altering how you hit the buttons, such as using your thumb-tip to hold 1 while using the middle of your thumb to hit 2. If one can learn how to do that at 4 years old playing the NES, one can learn that now playing the Wii. :P

I can run and carry them at the same time while jumping easily. :P

I usually jump too high and land in something which makes it really hard.

I hold 1 constantly while I play, just like I used to hold B constantly for the first Mario etc. etc.

It's something that you just learn how to do. lol

Now that's pretty ridiculous, your saying that after 4 generations of nintendo home consoles this is the 1st one you owned. That's bad! Plus. You said you never played mario before until now? That's baka. Well look my friend let me tell you a secret, the mario series is simply put- the best franchise in all of gaming. However this series isn't easy, it can be down right difficult at times but with practice you'll succeed. On a side note though, I've been playing cod-reflex a lot lately even though I'm perfer 1st party games the most! I can tell activision gave the wii version their FULL attention and it shows. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys mario newest adventure, I know I am!

You just have to hold both buttons down. And if you can't do that, maybe you should get outta the oven, know what I'm saying?

Good luck beating the rest of the game if you can't run and jump at the same time.

This is how I play too, and I never really thought about it until I was playing with my girlfriend and she couldn't make a jump. So I just said, "you have to make a running jump" it took her about 9 tries. I was really dumbfounded because I had never really thought about how much of a learned motion the running and jumping at the same time thing is. TC, always have the left side of your thumb on/over the 1 button and when you need to jump, just roll your thumb over a bit to hit the 2 button. You'll pick it up eventually.
