Just a weird thought that occured... In Hyrule there is a sun, you can see other suns (stars) in the night and you are obviously on a planet. In majora's mask remember there was a moon a well. Wouldn't it be cool if in the next Zelda you could go to other worlds (planets)? I'm not talking about something like Super Mario Galaxy where you randomly hop from planet to planet and experience gravity changes. Now since this is a Zelda game this has to be thought up very well. Zelda games have early technology (bows, cannons ect) and magic so something like that would be something to think about. I'm thinking something like this: link is a young child and these strage beings come down one day (think twilight theme with the cool looking beings) in and go to hyrule castle (he barely remembers this) and he sneeks in somewhere to find a strange beings shaking hands in agreement with a worried looking man. They exchange technology for a peice of the triforce which crashed on the planet 500 years ago. The triforce acted like a shield or something and now the world is turned into a distaster and they must use the technology to go to other planets..The dungeons are on different planets.
Imgaine a water themed world, fire themed world, desert. Link has to find a special mask to allow him to breath the atmospheres of different planets... Different stuff like that.
Adding my recent post:
I'm thinking there is an ancient structure left by the beings and link has to find it (by searching for clues and going through dungeons). Link has to find it before the land is unbearable to live on and something crashes into the planet because there is no protection. He might even have to reverse time (similar to majora's mask).
Anyways, this huge stucture is made out of metal (or stone?) that was left by the beings that spin around and launches the ship with Link into space. Remember this can't be to high tech. Something to do with magic protects the ship. The way they land has somehting to do with parachutes. Think of really complex old age machine.
I'm just thinking of ideas here tell me if this is a good idea or not..
(I'm editing a lot, putting in new ideas)
Definitely not like SMG. Zelda game worlds are bigger, not tiny spheres that are supposedly planets. (I LOVED Super Mario Galaxy.)
Fire, water, forest, desert... sounds like they should mix Zelda with Star Wars.:D
QUOT E FROM TC Super Mario Galaxy where you randomly hop from planet to planet and experience gravity changes. Now since this is a Zelda game this has to be thought up very well mario galexy wasn't thought up well?x_water
he was referring to the the zelda game... just so that it doesn't get messed up so it wouldn't be a mistake
Well, yeah maybe diferent planets with different atmospheres CAN DO IT.
I only wish the next Zelda to have a lot emotion, questioning, dark theme like Majoras Mask, i didnt like Twilight Princess because it lacks that stuff, lacks the things that keep you alive and thinking about.

"""""LINK, I am your father""""
NO NO NO, NO!
Whoa sounds like flop in the making.
yeah I think they should expose him more instead of that wimpy Vaati dude...I still awnt Link fighting in a big war looking all badass.
And give us more Dark Link!

it might be good, but i dont know about ships, seems a lil far off from Zelda to me.-DerkDigg-Instead of ships there could be teleporters maybe?
I like this idea. I believe it would work well if the theme wasn't so much about Link being in "space" as it was about Link travelling to different "worlds" (planets). So, instead of, say, blasting off to other worlds in a rocket ship, Link would simply go to a place similar to the Mages Guilds in the Elder Scrolls series, where he would teleport to other worlds with the help of some half-tattered, old Wizard or something.
Cool idea, anyhow.
Yeah scrap the spaceship idea. A teleporter would be better. But you still have to feel like you are going to other planets... Link could go to an observatory and look at the other planets and then teleport to them. There could be some aspects involving gravity (for puzzles) as well.I like this idea. Yeah, totally. I was thinking that the half-tattered, old man would have some sort of ancient map of all planets. Maybe one of the missions of the game could be to collect (through a series of dungeons) the parts needed to build an observatory, which would enable you to see the planets that are scribbled on the half-tattered, old man's ancient map.
I do like the idea of the other worlds having different puzzles for gravity and that.
