Obviously Hyrule warriors Legends been out for a while now and I think it's one of the most odd experiences I've had in quite some time now. The reason for this is that the game is heavily flawed; it's repetitive as hell, feels tedious a lot of the time, and is basically one long grind for better weapons and costumes. It's also super un fair sometimes, especially with giant bosses (The Imprisoned and Manhandla are two of the worst offenders).

The thing is that I can't stop playing it. Even when the game is making me mad I find it difficult to put down. I've collected all the weapons from the first adventure mode map and am working my way through the second right now. And while the content is the very definition of repetitive, there is A LOT of bang for your buck here, especially if you buy the dlc.

I'm not really comfortable calling it a good game since it's honestly not terribly well designed. But it's a game I can't stop playing.

Thoughts? Do you agree or disagree?

I have to say, playing Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U is a lot fun. I'd never played a Dynasty Warriors type game before and was a bit skeptical, but it was a great way to jump into the fray. The fact that it was based in the Zelda universe was an added bonus! I rented it a couple times first and actually beat it, but when I saw it on clearance at Target for $30, I couldn't resist. Sure the gameplay is repetitive, but, like you said, there's something about it that makes you come back to it again and again. The massive amount of enemies on screen and the boss battles are epic and enjoyable. Plus, my 4 and 6 year old love to play it too so that's an added bonus.

I haven't played the 3DS version, but I think it mirrors the Wii U version. I may have to pick it up though so I can get my fix on the go.

@etmaul: It definitely has some eprks of being on the go and if you have a New Nintendo 3DS, it runs very, very well despite all that's happening.

I guess the reason is that I'm a sucker for Zelda and the game is 100% fan service. Like, I love Majora's Mask, so of course I love playing Skull Kid and wiping out the enemy army with his powers.

It's just mind boggling to me how I can be hooked on a game that is so fundamentally repetitive. Ah well. I play it in bursts. Like I'll beat one of the Adventure maps and put it down for a while then over the course of a few days beat another map.
