Well if you like the look of black, get the black DS, if you like the look of white, get the white DS. I'm pretty sure Nintendo isn't changing the look of black and white with their DSs.
When I bought my DS Lite at Circuit City I got the onyx black one. The VERY next day I realized that I hated the black one. Two main reasons. One, the fingerprints were out of control on the black one making it look dirty all the time. Two, any dust or dirt would get on the thing in every little crack. Now I am sur ethat my white one gets fingerprints too as well as dust but you can't see it as much at all. (by the way I returned that black one the next day and got a white one!)
