Sales will be non existant for the game if it's AO. The only way you could possibly get it was through a few online stores or...illegally :S
BTW, like it or not, they're gonna have to change it if they want the game to at least sell a few.
Sonick54
They can't even sell it online: Nintendo won't certify it, or allow it on the system.

Well, there ya go :P
18-certified games sell just fine in the UK (even though a percentage of that will be made up by ignorant parents buying for kids).Sales will be non existant for the game if it's AO. The only way you could possibly get it was through a few online stores or...illegally :S

But it's AO. Not M. They can't sell it in stores. And you'd have to be one hell of a disturbed parent to purchase this for a kid to play :?

Well maybe in america (why by the way?). But here shelves are filled with them just like adult rated films. The UK 18+ rating is the equivalent of the M in the US.

Or will they? Maybe Nintendo wants to show the "Nubs" that they can doother than E, T, and M games.
Nintendo and Sony have both released statements that they will not allow the game on their systems in it's current formThus far the ESRB have been pretty chill about violent games and been pretty good with keeping them on the shelves. (So the time to reject a game was inevitably sometime soon. I think this whole issue of Manhunt 2 is a ploy to keep the ESRB around and make them look like they are still doing their jobs. I mean they only make sure that a respectable rating is on games (pretty easy job). So by basically restricting this game they are now showing that they are keeping their job and hold somesort of power. It could have been any upcoming game that could have got screwed by the ESRB (Grandtheft, GodFather) Man Hunt unfortunately was the game they picked to flex their controversial iron fist, it coulda been any borderline game.
We should have MANHUNT 2 on PS2 WII...
...shiet...u should put that on the PS3 and make it even more realistic. Like to see someone guy get his balled mangled with pliers on a HDTV 1080p PS3.
i am also very pissed, and im not evan old enough to buy it! i mean, its not like its anything all that badd anyway, its on a television screen being played virtually. ur not actually doin it, i figure these games as a diffrent form of entertainment from regular rpg's or adventure games. you get the surge of getting scared and fighting for survival in these types of games, way to go ruin it nintendo, sony, and ESRB. i cant belive i thought you guys were cool, lol.
I don't get why they are doing this to us. They are forcing R* to change it to an M. They should allow AO ratings on there systems and make people show ID to get the game. If the parents buy it for there kids to bad. There parents should have known better. They should keep it at an AO and keep the level of violence its at. End of discussion. Cornerstore
I'm not surprised by Sony's decision, but Nintendo should have known better to pass this money making opportunity on. It seems the only way to release this game without stooping to censorship is releasing it for the PC... If they go that route, then with proper advertising and hyping (in other words, having ads embracing its AO rating), I'd say they can still pull it off successfully.
Also, this fiasco might force the ESRB (along with other retailers) toreview/changeits handling of (potentially high-profile) AO rated games without being a bunch of pro-censorship asshats. I'm sure this case is also damaging the reputation of the ESRB as well as Sony and Nintendo.
I agree this is a disgrace to the gaming industry that Sony and Nintendo wont even allow such a game to come out. I mean who doesnt? You have to be a complete idiot or fanboy to think otherwise.. Funny how Nintendo is allowing a DS game to be released that lets you touch and arouse underaged girls and boys in their private parts, but Manhunt 2, forget about it, too violent.RoyTheSwordsman
i forgot about those. i guess nintendo executives are horny lol

What's more, they might be thinking about localizing it:

IM glad im not the onlyone that feels this way about it, I mean atleast rate it M for sales, that way i can play it, but the bad side to it is it will be less violent, i like violent games, it makes me feel pwoerful and strong to know im in control, ripping peoples insidesout and gutting pregnant mothers and killing there babies. I somtimes was i was actually the man in manhunt. I think we should all right a lettter to rockstar that we all feel this way and maby they will somhow find a way to put it as M and keep the violence:DCornerstoreGod I hope you're attempting to be funny. Because if you're not - then I'm afraid it is exactly people like you that are creating all the problems for us normal gamers. Non-gamers use you - yes, you - as an example for what the rest of us are like, which isn't fair because most of us are not wannabe sociopathic maniacs. So please shut up before you get us in more trouble.

I can't even think of one
Yeah, I didn't even really want this game and I'm pissed. God I hate censorship... I'm an adult - I don't need Nintendo and Sony making my decisions for me.The_Pig_Hostage
Nintendo and Sony arent trying to control what you play, its simply that the retailers refuse to carry AO games. There not going to put out a game that wont sell, and at the same time take heat in the media. Rockstar simply needs to find a way to get this game rated M. Whether that means toning it down, or appealing. This game seems like it was going to be a solid use of the Wii. I would like this game to be released, and its not going to happen as an AO title.

Nintendo and Sony aren't the ones who'd be 'putting it out', so what concern is it of theirs? I've never seen them refuse to license a game simply because it won't sell - that's the publisher's problem, not Nintendo's or Sony's. If Rockstar wants to keep the game the way it is and sell it exclusively online, they should be able to do that; if they'd rather tone it down to make it sell more, they can do that too - it's their game; but for the console manufacturers to say that it CAN'T be made available in its current form, even to a limited audience, is pure censorship.
They should? Where do you get off saying they should allow anything on their system? It's not censorship. The reason they won't allow this game is because it will hurt their public image, which will hurt sales. Purely business.Dr_Corndogto be quite honest this would help nintendos image much mopre then it would hurt it...remebr it being called a kiddie system? well what if it were to get the only console rated AO game on it?......VISIT THIS THREAD AND DO somehthing about it please
