I don't get all these 3rd party characters being tossed around for Brawl

I have been doing alot of searching around lately for Brawl info, and I gotta say I don't remember all this talk about characters like Cloud, Sora, Master Chief, etc... being in Melee. I am sure that the introduction of Snake has had some part to do with this but I think it is getting out of control a little about the rumors of some characters getting into Brawl. I have heard that after Snake only 3 or 4 more 3rd party characrters will be included which I have no problem with. I also heard that they are dropping Game & Watch and Ice Climbers for Bowser Jr. and Ridley.

But how did this talk of Cloud get in, as it boggles my mind of how he could get in this game. I am sure that it is FFVII fanboys craving to see Cloud and Sepiroth fight in Brawl. Sora and Sonic I can imagine...The MC...(shakes my head in disgust). Don't get me wrong these characters would make Brawl an invinsible game that would compete alongside Halo 3, MGS4, and FFXIII. I would however be interested what others have heard for other characters in Brawl.

Sakurai has said this on Thrid Party characters:

-They Must be from Video Games (No Anime or Manga Characters)

-They must have had a game on a Nintendo system before.

-There will be a Max. of 3, with no fewer than 2

-They will be Unlockable (not Playable at the start)

-Sonic and Megaman are the Two most popular Choices for Possable Third Party Characters when they held a poll on NOJ's site.

i don't really care it's the realism/anmi thing that bugs me snake looks real in all of his games NIntendo char are anmi mostly. idk y link doesn't bug me  but that is annoying :P

Dude, i know he wont be in it, but even if it were slightly possible, i wouldnt want him in it. 

MasterChief is one of the worst characters ever made IMO, why would anyone want him in Brawl? Samus owns him so hard.Phanrang

the richard belmont or dry bones would be cool cause dry bones can use bones like a sword and sweet stuff like that and belmont cause he was an early chacter to be on a nintendo console Sgtpeppers445

Richard Belmont? Are you thinking of a Castlevania character? That would be really cool... I haven't heard of a Richard before though... I've heard of a Richter Belmont... Either way I think a Castlevania character would be pretty cool...

looong running franchise with most all of it's titles on nintendos system.  Throw them a bone for crying out loud (and besides, even if he gets hit by it, the skeleton soul attack sucks and wouldnt really hurt him, even if it was a 9/9 bone)
