My brother just broke my wii. Words cannot described how mad i am at him right now. He enjoys seeing me sad. I will try to calm down.

I was playing my RENTED Tales of Symphonia 2. He wanted to play GHWT, but i told him that i needed to get to a save point first i told him to wait 10 minutes or so. He was sitting and he had the CONNECTED microphone in his hand and he decided to pull it to see if the wii would fall. Yes, he wanted to see if the wii would fall. So he pulled it, the wii fell about 3 feet. The music turned off and the game continued to play for about 10 more seconds until i got a message along the lines "Unable able to read the disc. Please eject and reinsert the disc". I turn off and turn on the wii hoping nothing had happened. I click the disc channel and it is unable to read the disc. So i click the eject button. Oh joy, the CD doesn't come out. Great. Totally awesome. The fall broke the CD drive. I call Nintendo and i have to send it in for repairs and pay $82.50 canadian. I check what exactly is wrong so i use popsicle sticks to lift the flaps covering the CD drive and i see something in front. It looks like the CD drive got moved somewhere.

Its not like this is the first time hes done something like this. He pulled the USB out of the computer while charging my iPod and all my songs got deleted and it was unable to sync anymore. I had to pay $130 in repairs as well. Its not like my brother is 5 years old or something. HE'S 18 FOR GOD'S SAKE. So, what should i do while i wait for my wii to repair?

How long will it take to be repaired?

I have to pay for it because he's a bad brother, like you said. And its $7.50 for repairs. I'd assume it would take a few weeks if its that cheap.

Dont repair your wii. If u dont eventually your brother will want to use the system, and will have to get it repaired himself. Just hide your cash somewhere where he wont find it so he cant jack your money to pay for the repairs. I know you probably want play the console rly badly, but its worth waiting because eventually he will learn that dont take BS from him. Or you can always tell one of your parents or whoever lives with you. I mean are younger or older than him? You dont need to say your age just say younger or older.

He's 18. He therefore should have or be able to earn the money to repair your system. If you're living with your parents, tell them what he's done and get them to force him to reimburse you the costs of the repairs (or else pay for it themselves.)

If it were me, I would refuse to talk to him, help him, do anything with him until he had reimbursed me. And if I were you, I'd be looking to move out on your own soon, since he has no respect for your property and your parents don't seem to see it or care to discipline him.

Does he have any system of his own? PSP? DS? Anything? Confiscate it from him and play on it till your Wii comes back, and if he asks for it back, say that he shouldn't have broken your Wii and he should pay for the damages, and don't give it back to him.

This makes me thankful I was an only child.

Lol. And to the TC, you said $82.50 in your original post. But in a later post you said $7.50. $7.50 isn't much. But 80+ sure is. Oh and you should put parental controls. Enter a PIN number that only you would know. Make it so that whenever you play a game that E rated or higher, you have to enter the PIN number :P. It always works. Just go to wii settings on the wii menu in the bottom left hand corner. Then go to Parental Controls and set it up. OWNAGE. Trick courtesy of: Scar Hawk

That's the less exciting way to deal with things.... :P Here's a slow process: 1. Lift some weights or exercise. 2. Become much stronger than your brother. 3. Threaten to beat him up if he ever damages any of your consoles 4. PROFIT!!! (you also get other benefits such as girls piling you) >_>

The same thing happened with my dog and my Gamecube. Luckily, Nintendo made a pretty good console. The Wii...meh.

As for your brorther, kick his butt...

No offense, but your brother seems a bit immature for an 18 year old. When I started to read this thread I pictured him being 11 or 12. Sucks to hear about your Wii breaking though. I've accidently caused mine to fall while playing a GC game and the disc eject button sort of broke but it still works.

I'm 14, i pretty much have no chance if i try to beat him up. But i managed to convince my parents to pay for the costs, but my bro isn't in trouble or anything. The only thing i can think of that i can take from him is his laptop but it has all his notes for university which he needs to study off of. But he isn't allowed to use my ds or wii anymore.

I was wondering about the 82 vs 7 difference, but I figured maybe I misunderstood (i.e. 82 = shipping, 7 = repairs?) The PIN thing is good to stop him from playing, but what if he gets pissed off and then damages the console again? He seems to be liable to damage things when he gets impatient. And beating him up is totally not less dramatic! :P

It's $75 for repairs+1 year warranty, $7.50 shipping and handling, $14+ for late fees or $50 if TOS2 breaks.

That's good. Younger brothers shouldn't pay for the things their older brothers screw up. I'm glad that your parents are paying for it at least. I figured they would if you told them about it. And even though he's not allowed to play, I'd try to enforce that with the PIN code thing scar-hawk mentioned. It can't stop him from using your Wii, but at least he won't be able to play some games.

I would tell your parents that he should pay the fee and not them.

If that doesnt work, break something of his.

If that doesnt work, do the parent controls idea.

If that doesntr work hide the remotes.

If that doesnt work keep putting soap on his toothbrush.

If that doesnt work, well your screwed

It wasn't my fault and knowing my bro he will just keep saying he's going to pay for it and ship it but never get around to it. He will keep "forgetting" about it.

In all seriousness...is he retarded? Is he mentally damaged in some way? Austistic? Down Syndrome? Anything?

Listen if you want to get some violent payback, crack him in the side of the knee with a bat. You pay for your Wii to get repaired he has to pay for crutches and doctors to drain his knee for the rest of his life. Fair is fair.

Keep reminding him or get your parents to force him to pay.

It's pathetic that an 18 year old is that irresponsible especially to another family member, he'll never grow up if he gets away with things like this.

Haha picture gave me a good laugh. Well i'd put the effort in anyway, no matter how many times i've sparred my older brother he still eventually kicks the crap out of me but what else would you expect. But are you sure he did it on purpose he could've been totally mashed and just didn't have a clue what he was doing or he was being a bastard i don't know.

He isn't retarded or anything like that. He did this because he was being impatient and couldn't wait to play GHWT. About the knee thing, we live in Canada. We have free health care :P. I'm still pissed off that my wii is broken, but whatever. It happened and there's no way i can change it now. I'll just have to wait for it to be repaired.

I do things like this from time to time too because I get bored watching others play the Wii. Last Christmas my cousin got Galaxy and I saw that there was co-op mode on the back of the box so I kinda got excited. When it actually came to playing it was terrible, he played the game and I would point at the screen clicking on stars; oh the fun! Since I had the ability to make him jump by point at Mario I did that at inopportune times so he would lose, but that got boring quickly. Then, I took my Wiimote and slid it across the floor and managed to hit the power brick and knock the plug out of the back, I was very happy and amused at the shot I had made. The sad part is that I broke the Wii and now the plug doesn't stay in the back anymore. The Wii is very fragile and breaks way to easily. I accidentally kicked his 360 across the room and hitting into his PS3 and both still worked (I was scared ****less when it happened.)

From my personal experiences that is hard to believe. I own all three console and my Wii and PS3 both have been sent back for repair. The Wii started getting all these green pixels all over then finally quit working on me. It was the first time I have ever had a console die on me other than my NES after 21 years of operating. I have since sold my Wii so there is no chance of it happening again.

Break something of his, but not in an obvious way. Do it so that it looks like it just naturally broke. That oughta teach him.

I honestly thought your brother was 8 until I read he was 18. What an ***. Make him pay for it. Sorry about your Wii, I would freak if that happened.

I couldn't agree more. But yeah, I wouldn't let him use your stuff anymore or go near it for that matter.

I dont think he should do that, then he would be going down to the level his brother went to.

If my brother did that I would go berserk. I would pay for the repairs and then never let him play the Wii again.
