I have a potentially really stupid, or very helpful question

Alright bear with me, I just got my Wii today so I'm still figuring stuff out.  Awhile back a friend of mine said that he read somewhere that all wii games could be played with a gamecube controller if you didn't want to use the wii mote.  This sounds crazy but some things are.  Hopefully someone can shed some light onto this.  Thanks

Certain fighting games will give you the option of using the GCN controller, like Mortal Kombat. I'm afraid thats where it stops, I'm unaware of anything outside the fighting genre that allows you to use the GCN controller.
