In regards to my first post, here is the first letter i sent to nintendo after receiving 8 defective nintendo Ds's:
To Whom It May Concern:
Â
I have purchased eight (8) different Nintendo DS Lites. Of those, five (5) of them from circuitcity and three (3) of them from target. All of them were the "onyx black" colored. Of those 8 Nintendo DS Lite's all of them had one (1) or more dead pixels. Initially, I had purchased one at circuitcity In Lancaster CA, due to a dead pixel I exchanged it at the same circuitcity. I went back to long beach, where I found another dead pixel and returned it to the Circuit City in Lakewood. I exchanged it a total of four (4) times until on the fifth Nintendo DS Lite, where I returned it for my money and went to target. I then purchased another Onyx DS Lite, with another dead pixel. I exchanged it for another and bought an extra one believing that if I buy two, ONE HAS TO WORK. To my dismay, both had at least one bad pixel, and thus returned them for my money. Here are the serial numbers for all of the Nintendo DS Lites I have purchased and returned in chronological order as written on each receipt from April 6, 2007 to April 13, 2007 and the last ones returned on April 14, 2007:
Â
CircuitCity Lancaster, CA
-UG1207003xx
-UG1205854xx
CircuitCity Lakewood, CA
-UG1225686xx
-UG1225698xx
-UG1225702xx
Target Lakewood, CA
-UG4398597xx
-UG4398596xx
-UG4398577xx
Â
I have included all the serial numbers in order to prove the sincerity and seriousness of my issue. I would like to know where I could purchase a Nintendo DS Lite with absolutely NO dead pixels, because I have become increasingly stressed about finding a perfect one. Also, I would like to know if there was a defective batch with more Nintendo DS Lites than average containing an abnormal number of dead pixels in the previous week or so that may have been the cause for my excessive misfortune.
Â
Thank you for your time,

Here is there reply:
"Hello,
I appreciate your taking the time to share your comments with us in regard to the Nintendo DS systems you have purchased. Rest assured that your e-mail will be forwarded on to the appropriate department for further review.
In a small number of Nintendo DS screens, consumers may notice a tiny, discolored (usually white or red) dot. This discoloration occurs when a particular pixel (the smallest image-forming unit of the screen) remains stuck on a single color.Â
Even with the high standard of quality set by LCD manufacturers, this situation is common to many LCD devices (PC monitors, televisions, cell phones, etc.), and is within LCD manufacturers' specifications. It's important to understand that this problem will remain limited to the pixels you have already noticed. You won't see the problem spread to other areas of the screen.
You will likely notice that during game play that a discolored pixel does not stand out, but fades into the graphics of the game. However, if it truly affects your ability to play, please remember that the Nintendo DS does carry a one-year warranty. We are happy to inspect and, if necessary, fix your system at no charge within the warranty period.
For warranty repair information, please visit the Customer Service section of our web site at www.nintendo.com. Below is the direct address to our Customer Service area:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/
Once there, select the Nintendo DS icon, then scroll down to Repairs and follow the directions. Most likely, your system's serial number was registered electronically by the retailer at the time of purchase. To view your system's warranty information, please check the following web page:
https://www.nintendo.com/cpp/repairs/warrantyLookup.do
If you need additional assistance, please contact Nintendo's Consumer Service Department by calling 1-800-255-3700. Representatives are available to set up your repair between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc.
Andi Anderson"
