I recommend you buy a Ipod instead.
I have a NDS and a 3DS and all love for Nintendo aside, I find the 3DS underwhelming.
If you want some fun games, plop down $200.00 on a 8 gig Ipod and for about $50.00 extra you'll be able to get around 50 fun and entertaining games, all for the price of of about one or two 3DS games.
For me, the 3DS doesn't have many good games. Almost everything seems to be a remake. Right now, Octopus from Game and Watch Gallery is amusing me and that's a game from 1997 for Pete's sake.
I bought the system for the new Animal Crossing game and I'm still waiting for it.
The 3D is a nice gimmick, but you'll likely turn it off quite quickly and all you're left with is a NDS that's got a bit more horsepower.
The purchases from the eShop track to your 3DS and you can't share them with another 3DS you own, unlike the PSP/PSP Go.
Look up loose hinge and you'll see quite a few people had purchased a 3DS only to find it has a loose hinge. I have two, one with a loose hinge and one without. Nintendo says it's not a problem but it smacks of poor quality in my opinion.
I'm not an Apple fanboy, in fact I think they're just as evil as Microsoft but I've had more fun with my Ipod than with my 3DS.
Wait until E3 - if they announce something new than wait a little longer, if not than go with current 3DS
What is E3? ^_^;; Electronic Entertainment Expo. A convention where gaming companies announce stuff like new games and consoles. It's taking place in July :DWait until E3 - if they announce something new than wait a little longer, if not than go with current 3DS

get streetpassinRod90I just looked that up. Looks interesting... It also kind of sort of makes me want to get Nintendogs again, LOL.
To wait for a revised model is...silly...to be honest, the circle pad pro exists (and is not mandatory) and anyone who refuses to use that is just stubborn and has obviously never used it.
The only reason you should not get a 3DS is if the games don't interest you, as would be the reason for any other system.
I would honestly take Mario Kart 7 for my 3DS than 50 crap Ipod games. Dont listen to anything that troll said. Even with 3D off its like a portable Gamecube whereas the DS is like an N64.
I agree with what you say but you dont have to call the guy a troll:PI would honestly take Mario Kart 7 for my 3DS than 50 crap Ipod games. Dont listen to anything that troll said. Even with 3D off its like a portable Gamecube whereas the DS is like an N64.

As much as I'm tempted to get the purple 3DS, I'm waiting for the inevitable redesign.OceansBloomThat color is AMAZING, is it not? :D [QUOTE="NamelessPlayer"]I was in the same position and decided to go for a first-revision 3DS in the end. -Kid Icarus: Uprising largely pushed me over into getting one. I don't regret it one bit. Easily the best game on the 3DS in my opinion. -News broke out that they were going to stop offering Zelda: Four Swords on the eShop after a certain date...unfortunately earlier than the delivery date of my first 3DS order (during the $150 Newegg sale). Fortunately, I wound up buying one on eBay with it already downloaded, along with all the Ambassador Program stuff for significantly less than $250. -I figured that if I get all that downloadable software now, especially the Ambassador Program stuff, I can system transfer it all to any newer-revision 3DS models that show up and sell the old one. -My original DS was getting a bit long in the tooth anyway. Dim screens, and a much shorter battery life than I recall it originally having, but expected since time isn't kind to lithium-ion batteries. -Since my little brother broke his DS Lite's hinge for the third time, I wanted to have said original DS free for him to borrow (and hopefully not break) while I have my 3DS. Oh, and while I do have a Circle Pad Pro, I don't really have any games that would make use of it. I'm not left-handed, so I don't bother with it in Kid Icarus: Uprising. It's just not very widely supported right now save for three or four games, one of which isn't released outside of Japan yet and the other which may only support it in the Japanese version, with the remaining two that would've been much better off if they supported touchscreen aiming. Whoa. WHOA. Okay, I don't care if I sound like a newbie at all... the graphics I'm seeing for some of these games (like the one you mentioned) are blowing me away. You guys weren't kidding when you compared the 360 with the 3DS. Oh my goodness, I am extremely tempted now. (Can you tell I don't have, like, any of the newest consoles out right now?) Would you say that the original 3DS model will be worth something when the newer model comes out? (Although I bet you anything I wouldn't want to get rid of it, just like I'm holding onto my original DS for backwards compatibility!) Kid Icarus looks amazing, and I don't even know anything about it. xD And yes, the dim screen is becoming way too much for me. I might even go so far as to say it's hurting my eyes since I can barely see it next to my bright laptop screen. I feel like I'm reading with minimal light when I'm looking at my DS screen, which I doubt is good for the eyes.... Not that staring at any screen is good, but whatever. :P Arghh. I wish GameStop would have some sort of promotion for it this summer. If there were some sort of free game thrown in for the regular 3DS price, I might just bite. I appreciate all the opinions here. I'm not sure whether it's making the decision any easier, LOL, but I like them.
Nintendo provide new 3DS with some advance features available. If you are huge fan of portable console gaming and have enough budget then it is better to purchase 3DS otherwise DS is also good and you can continue gaming with it.

He can call me whatever he wants, it just reflects on him/her, but who said anything about crap Ipod games?
There are more games on the Ipod than Fruit Ninja and Cut the Rope, you just have to look.
And for the record, I have 7 3DS cartridge games and around 50 NDS cartridge games, so I'm not anti-Nintendo, I'm just not that impressed with their product.
As for Mario Kart 7, sure it's fun, but it's Mario Kart - I've played this game six times before.

I agree about the ipod games. I was on my itouch all the time since I had so many games on there. It's been a couple of years since it died, so I can't remember many titles, but there were some pretty good ones on there that were far removed from games like Angry Birds. Plus, they are super cheap and fun to pick up when I don't feel like getting into a "heavier" game, so to speak, on a console. I also tired of Mario Kart DS and traded it back to Amazon for around $15 for a copy I have had sitting around since I bought my DS six years ago. No regrets. That game got boring pretty fast. I don't think that game would be high on my list when/if I get a 3DS. Anyone happen to know why OOP games like Super Princess Peach are super expensive at places like GameStop (like, $50 for just the cartridge), yet they will pay hardly anything for them? I thought they would pay back a certain percentage based on how much they could sell it for, or something. I'd rather sell the thing on eBay or even trade it back to Amazon instead of taking it to that place! Please Log In to post.
