Enjoy your 3DS, mate :)
I recommend, as always, Resident Evil Mercs 3D, Ridge Racer 3D, Mario Land 3D, Cave Story 3D, and Banana 3D. (Disclaimer: Banana 3D is property of Spinnerweb. Don't touch it. And if you have a copy of it, go buy a new one.)
Super Mario 3D Land definitely. Ones that look really interesting are Dead or Alive: Dimensions or Super Street Fighter 4 if you want fighting games. Nano Assault looks really fun. Rayman Origins and Sonic Generations are out soon. Shinobi looks like it'll be good, however the graphics will be a turn-off for some. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries is worth it if you actually like the Mercenaries mini-game.
I have had a 3ds since launch day and I just bought my second game last night. Super Mario 3d Land. It was worth the wait. This game is fantastic so far. My launch title was SSF4: 3d. I had Ridge Racer but got rid of it when I realized I had played it a million times before. As of now Mario 3d Land is the only must have exclusive on the system. I am sure that Zelda and Star Fox are beautiful ports, but I can't justify $80 to play the two games I played on the N64 more than any other titles. If I spot Star Fox new for $20 I will grab it, but Zelda can R.I.P. Congrats on the buy man!
Dead or Alive: Dimensions is as good a place as any to start. I sank too much time into SSF:VI on the 360 with an arcade stick to enjoy it much on the handheld, but as far as ports go it's well done. If platformers are your thing get Super Mario 3D Land.
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor: Overclocked is a good strategy/RPG made by one of the best in the business, though it's currently overpriced by $20 on Amazon (it costs $59.99 new) with the DS version that only lacks voice-acting, a few less demons, and one scenario called "the 8th Day" coming in $40 cheaper ($19.99 new).
[QUOTE="KBFloYd"]For a rental?i recomend pilotwings..
Rod90
For $20 I got a solid 8 hours out of it, and I still have a few things to unlock. Plus, its got that relaxing Animal Crossing appeal to me.
I only have 2 3DS games at the moment and that's Zelda OOT, and Mario 3D Land. Most of the games I have are from the E-Shop. They're mostly older games, but they have a bunch of good ones for real cheap. You might want to look and see what they have there.
Super Mario 3D land
Star Fox 64 3D (unless you've already played it to death on the nintendo 64 :P)
Link's Awakening (on the e-shop)
If you like fighting games, both SSF4 and DOA are decent.
Mario Kart 7 comes out December 4th
Thanks for the recommandations! The 3DS is really excellent, and not because of the 3D. (Im only using the 3D at home, in public I cant get it in the right position) I was never really a fan of 3D movies, the 3D does nothing more then add a little depth to it on the 3DS, and as for at cinemas, man it just sticks out a bit. The 3D of Spy-kids 3D years ago was the only 3D I really liked. Because when things flew out the screen, it came close to hiting you!
What I find most improving is the circle-pad, it's simple the best feature of the 3DS. That and the excelent range of games that will come out :D
