I just picked up Cursed Mountain today *impressions added *56k should not climb*

Hey guys, I just picked this game up today at gamestop even though it's not officially out until next Wednesday. But here's some proof and I'll have some impressions up this evening on this thread. Enjoy!!!

Edit: Okay now for some impressions. Four words: Buy This Game NOW!!!! (or whenever) I'm going to try and avoid spoilers.

First thing you notice about this game is the graphics, and I can go ahead and tell you that there was precious time put into this engine. The sheer scope of the environments should draw any adventure game lover in. There are some nice little effects in there too, for example; whenever a "spirit" is about to pop up you can hear the wind hasten and the colorful flags in the town start move like they are going to detach themselves. Which brings me to sound, this isn't a typical game where music is heard for everything. This game relies heavily on sound effects to make you feel alone. There are also some nice subtle sounds, for example; i was walking along the side of a building and i stood still for just a second and you could hear moaning coming from within the structure.

Now for gameplay: it's easy to control and the motion controls work. Whenever you see a symbol on an enemy after you shot it a few times with your magic axe(don't ask I'll only spoil) you hold A for a second and you are signaled to start the ritual. Most times it's swinging the Wii remote diagnally and watching them disappear.

So far I'm really enjoying this experience and it is one of the must haves on the Wii.

I'm pretty sure it's $50 like every other Wii game.

You're looking for your brother that got lost on a mountain. But they have ghosts and other things that get in your way.

It's heavily influenced with Buddha and Tibetian culture.

Looks pretty sick. I have to look into it more.

lots of narrative and it's interesting... if there was one word it's edutainment... assuming it's inspirations is really what budhism is about

I've put about three hours into it and I'm still at the bottom of the mountain due to the fact that eric falls into a creepy canyon. Like i said, you don't start out climbing as eric... :)

I am glad you like it so far. This is one of the games I am really excited about and have not heard much about for a the last few months.

Any chance on some off screen shots or video? I have been on the fence about this one and I am bit of a graphics (beep.) I know I know can't be a graphics (beep) and own a wii but I am one lol.

I have watched all the development videos on this one and it seemed pretty darn interesting but after reading how the game was made by teams across the world I have been worried that it will be very disjointed.

Seeing some video of the game being played by a real person not a developer would be a nice change of pace. Then you get to see what the game is really like, not just highlight reels.

I wonder if it will be less or more jaggirific on my 46 inch plasma, sometimes the plasma helps smooth the image some but it is hit or miss with Wii games. I swear my old 34 inch 1080i CRT tv is still the best gaming tv I will ever own!

Awesome, I have an LCD and sit kinda far back, so good news!

I may get this game, but when I look at screenshots and videos, I still can't really figure out the point of the game. =/

Though, this has encouraged me to buy the game. =)

I'm still not buying it, I demand you take a pic with you holding the game, in front of the gamestop you bought it from, with the receipt, the gamestop manager and that girl from your sig, until I see that I wont belive it :P. But for now I will indulge you, hows the combat, from the vids it looks a bit clunky and does it ever evolve past the shoot a few times, diagonal slash spell? Sepewrath

lol... so about the combat, it's not as clunky as you think, but you can also hit things. I feel like there is more to it so far so I'll keep you guys updated.
