I was playing billiards on wii play while sitting in a chair. The chair is wooden with big wooden armrests on the side. So I pull back my hand to shoot the ball and as I hit forward, my hand hit the side of the chair. I was like...oh ****. I'm never gonna sit down to play my wii ever again. Has this happened to anyone?
I have swung my arm backwards while bowling and struck my hand on a coffe table. You may laugh, but wii injuries are a real threat. As for sitting or standing I prefer to stand for any sports related games, but as for TP of MP3 I prefer to sit.
My wife is really good at Wii bowling while sitting down, but it's on the padded couch. The most common thing we've whacked with the Wii remote is my 2-year-old daughter's head. The little weasel sneaks up behind people while they're concentrating on the screen. Luckily, no serious injuries. I hope she doesn't need a concussion to teach her to keep out of the way.
I sit down to play games like RE4, TP, Strikers and Super Paper Mario. When I was playing wii tennis, I got caught up in the game and wasn't paying attention to my relation to my door. I pulled my hand back for a backhand and smoked my hand off the side of my open door.
while playing wii tennis, during a backhand swing, i hit my brother right between the legs (not a pretty sight). also, while watching my cousin play a running minigame in rayman raving rabbids, he punched himself right on the chin, making him close his mouth to the point where his teeth clashed lol
I was playing bowling, on the backswing the strap broke and my remote flew up in the ceiling then came back down and hit my dog in the face. Of course I have popcorn ceiling so it left a pretty nice sized chunk of missing ceiling....
As far as I can remember I havent hit anything Major... yet. (few bumps here and there) Wii sports sitting down its tough but not impossible, just awkward more then anything.
I always wanted one of those video game chairs so about a year before the Wii release I went all out I figured I'd get the best on with all of the built in speakers and everything. It was about $90 and then I got a Wii and I hardly ever use it because it is too hard to play Wii sitting down.
This is why you pay attention to the big warning screen the Wii puts up, about checking your surroundings and attaching the wrist strap. Everybody who has been injured while playing Wii deserves it - no one pays attention to the GD warnings/instructions.
I have yet to have any type of remote throwing, or body injuries - I've only been running in to software glitches on my Wii.
I was putting ( thank god) and my dog gets realy excited every time i play wii, he will chase absolutly nothing in the direction i swing LOL!.
well when i was playing golf he was getting anoyed with me not actually throwing a ball and when i putted he jumped up at my arm and the back oh my hand hit his tooth and i bled alot, it was painfull for both of us :(
i can only play tennis sitting down but for everythis else i have to stand
also when i was playing bowling at my friend's house, when i was about to throw it and my friend jumped in the way and i hit him right between the legs. (ouch):lol:
Wow, after reading all these, I feel a lot less of a klutz :lol:. I haven't had any problems/injuries and can play wii sports fine sitting down, except baseball (it's too awkward :() But also i feel likea loner because no one ever plays with me, so i don't have any sad (funny to everyone else) stories to share:cry:
PS I feel sorry to all those people who have these mishaps :?
I took my Wii over to a friend's house and we had a big Tennis tournament. Unfortunately I forgot to bring the wrist straps over. One of the guys playing went to serve, put too much power in to the swing and pretty much threw the Wii remote at the hard wood floor. The sound was afwul, like the remote had smashed in to bits but it wasn't as bad as I thought. But now I have to tape the battery cover on to the Wii remote. it still works ok. The IR sensor works fine but it takes more of an effort for the motion sensor to respond. lol
Yeah i got quite frieghtened when i was playing wii sports [golf] and banged the glass bottle on the floor trying to swing the wii-moteit to the max. I did it sitting down on the floor.
One time when I was bowling I swung back and my dog had come up behind me and I smoked it in the head. Another time a little kid was playing bowling and he didn't put on the wrist strap and he ended whippin the wiimote at the TV hard and the batteries flew everywhere, but it still works.
for sports: standing. for others: sit. although i do have a funny story about metroid.... i swung the nunchuck forward and grappled onto a sheild and when i pulled back it wouldnt come off so i got upset and went kinda crazy and hit my own face. :?Â
I was playing Wii Boxing with my wife and when I went to throw a jab in-game I accidentally crushed my wife's skull with a wrench, cut her body to bits and left half of her in a garbage bag in the woods and the other half under a rock at the bottom of a retention pond.
But hey, pobody's nerfect. Thats why pencils have erasers ;)
I hit my dog in the mouth while bowling one time. And I've also hit my friend in the shoulder while playing tennis. There a tons of miscellaneous Wii injuries between my friends, my family, and me.

I don't know about you guys, but those wii controls are extremely durable if they are accidently tossed into walls or other objects (except for the strap of course)
Me and some friends were playing Wii Tennis, one of them and surfed a bit to high and smashed a a chandalier. It wasn't too serious though, in fact it was pretty funny. :)
