Okis.

I know what Wi-fi is, and how to use it on the DS but.....

If I were to go to a hotel for spring break and they had free wireless internet, could I use that on my DS?

Thanks for your help; It's much needed!

Yes you'll just need to ask the hotel if you need some type of wep key or something, you get.

Depends on the settings actually. I work part time in a hotel were we offer free Wi-Fi (grave-yard, it's like getting paid to play any game I want, plus free food). The problem is in the fact that our system is set up to lend you an IP number for about 8 hours before you have to renew it. In order to get an IP address you have to go through an agreement web page, something that I have not been able to do at all on my NDS. You should get information from the hotel you'll be staying at (if you know, that is). If it works the same way as in my situation, then you can always bring a laptop and buy one of those USB Wi-Fi adapters from Nintendo. Also, there are some other ones that are of some other brands which you can use as an access point.
Could also be as stated above where you have to get a wep number from the front desk, though to tell you the truth, I'd hate it having to give a number out every time one was requested. It's bad enough that the phone rings when I am in the middle of an important part of any game.

Do you think it'd work if I used the DS Web Browser from Japan? :D

You know, I have the browser my self, and I have no idea why I did not try it. Since we have internet on our computers at the desk, I never bothered, I will give it a try, but will have to wait for the weekend. I can PM you when I find out if you'd like. I know that I was unable to log on with my Pocket PC Phone using compact IE, which is stripped too much.

Thanks for all your help!

One last question though.

The Starbucks in my town offers free Wi-fi.

Can I use that too?

I'm going to ask my mom if I can buy ACWW and use the Wi-fi in Florida.

So if anyone wants to send me their friend code ahead of time...

Just PM me!

Dude I saw in your sig you are currently wanting a sega genesis and a nes and I cant blame you haha, my dad took my nes to the dump without telling me but luckily he left my genesis alone...it is my favorite console ever...good ol' sonic 1-3, 3d blast, and robotniks mean bean machine never get old. But just to make this on topic do what everyone else said and you should be able to get on wifi at your hotel.
