I Never Beat Ocarina B4- So If I Buy 3DS To Play It Is That Stupid?

Well most people say u should never buy a system to just play a port....but most people already beat ocarina......I only ever got to the cave of those rock people. Therefore, playing ocarina the first hour would be all familiar. But after, it would be a new experience for me

So if i jump on the 3DS bandwagon right now and pick up Starfox and OCarina, is that a wise decision or should I apparently STILL wait like people keep saying to do??

Lot's of people will tell you that the 3DS will get lots of other new games coming out in the future. So if you want to play those games, I say getting a 3DS could be a good choice. More than just those 2 games you listed.hydralisk86

That would actually be a good reason to buy the 3DS, Ocarina of Time is amazing and this is a great way to experience it. It's not like you won't want to buy other 3DS games anyway, new games (i.e. Mario) are coming out in November, 2 games is good for now, and especially if you haven't played the originals because they will be fresh.rubber-chicken

Honestly, I'm a huge Zelda fan and I would recommend getting a 3DS for it. Although it has been ported before, this is a complete remake featuring new graphics, new features, new textures, and even a (semi)new difficulty mode once you beat the game. The 3DS itself has lots of features as well. Check out the e-store, you may want to pick up a few oldies from there! ^^

Finally, getting the 3DS now would just mean you'll have money in the future for new games that get released, and you're not overwhelmed by the amount of games you want to buy later this year. I doubt the 3DS is getting cheaper anytime soon, I recommend picking one up. :)

Reviews of the game suggest that the game has hold up really well. I would say it's a little outdated but the temples are great.

I don't think it's a stupid reason to buy a 3DS I'm sure many people bought one for that game and the Mario games. I mostly bought the 3DS for Resident Evil and the Mario games but I've also been buying some of the other games which are currently out. These Nintendo ports are a good way for me to play these games since I never had an N64.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a fantastic game, and it runs and looks far supiror to the Nintendo 64 version. As for getting a 3DS if you have the money now I recommend getting it now for a few reasons:

• Once late October/Novemeber starts rolling around finding a 3DS is going to most likely be a challenege as I can imagine they are going to sell like crazy during the holiday season, and after Black Firday it will probably be impossible to find one in stores.
• Super Mario 3D Land comes out in Novemeber, Cave Story 3D comes out in October, Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64 have already been released, Bit.Trip Saga has already been released and the Virtual Console service has a nice selection of Game Boy games and a Game Boy Color game (Link's Awakening DX) to play for dirt cheap, so you should be fine when it comes to games. I also recommend Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars which is great if you like turn based strategy games.
• It will give you more time to resave the money you spent on a 3DS now so you can get Kid Icarus, Mario Kart 7, Resident Evil Revelations and other games when they come out.

Personally I would wait. I got one and I only have 2 games myself, one being OOT, and the other Dead or Alive: Dimensions(waaay better than SSF4, online sucks though). They are having a few coming out I'd like to get, like the new Super Mario 3D, Paper Mario, Resident Evil: Revelations, Luigi's Mansion 2(he never get's enough credit), and Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns just to name a few. The launch games kind of sucked, but I got a feeling next years games will be a lot better. I just hate that we have to wait so long for the good ones to come out.

You gotta play star fox, the 3DS remake really made me realize how good the game really is! I didn't even it that much on the N64 but for some reason I really did on the 3DS..maby its the shiny new graphics and 3D effect :D

If you have the money go for it, oot is amazing and if you never finished it this is the way to do it.

It sounds like you're only so-so interested in Ocarina. I personally wouldn't buy a system just to play a game I wasn't pumped about. But it does sound like you are pumped for the other games you listed. Here's a tip and it's not written in stone: if you don't feel the same level of excitement for Ocarina as you do the other games you listed, then wait to buy the 3DS. I personally have no 3D titles for my system. I bought it simply to take advantage of the GBA Ambassador games and although Star Fox was my second favorite game on 64 and I love Zelda, I just don't feel the same way about those titles as I do Mario Kart and 3D Land, so I passed on those. In the meantime I have no problem waiting for the games I do want. Good luck with your decision.

I was iffy if a redesign was coming but honestly since nintendo knows they have to keep the trust of their customers after the price drop problem i really think they will be smart and delay any redesigns till at least 2013. So i have no regrets for my purchase

No, not a bad choice at all. You'll have the system when all the good games come out instead of having to buy a system and wanting so many games.
