There are many games that aren't for kids. Like RE4, The Godfather, Manhunt 2, and many others.

Well said. Games are meant for fun and playability. Who cares if it looks 'childish'? It's all about how much fun and how much you enjoy playing.

I'm guessing you should like No More Heroes, which is coming out this month and should be one of the most violent games on Wii.

I enjoy violent and "childish" games. If you don't like the games, don't get the system. Just don't get it and then complain about it.

I agree if you cant get past blood and gore and guns in your games, you may have some problems. Also simply because a game doesnt feature beating prostitutes with baseball bats doesnt make it childish for future reference.

Get the Resident Evil games for the Wii. That will solve your shooter cravings for a while.

Anyway, dont not buy games like Galaxy and SSBB just cause they look "kiddie". I buy games to have fun, not pretend to be more mature.

I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't come back. Come on guys, personal taste is just that. Now I agree that there are some games that feel more mature (eg: aren't cartoony in nature.) available, but there are some games that are. SMG, an all around good game, is still cartoony in nature. That simply does not appeal to some people. It doesn't make them worse for it. It's just difference in taste. No need to practically assault them.:?

For me, I like realism in some things (such as the afore mentioned Fight Night. For me, personally, I want something with more realism in my sports games since they are emulating real sports) and I'm not alone.

As for recomendations, I didn't feel as though Metroidfelt childish (for the record, Mario, imo sort of is. I still enjoy it, but it falls into that classification for me). Zelda has some darker moments too, adding some sense of maturity to it, or so I felt. Also, there's Call of Duty, Manhunt 2, Resident Evil, and Madden for a less toned down feel.

Metroid Prime 3:Corruption

Resident Evil 4

Manhunt

Resident Evil:Ummbrella Chronicles

Zelda:Twilight Princess

Soulcalibur Legends

and that's just the exclusive games that aren't for the kiddies.........these are also worth getting:

Super Mario Galaxy

Nights:Journey Of Dreams

Super Paper Mario

Mario Party 8

Sonic and the Secret Rings

SSX Blur

Warioware:Smooth Moves

Mercury Meltdown Revolution

Ghost Squad

Link's Crossbow Training

That's not all of my Wii games, but they are the ones I play the most. Have to admit I play 360 way more, but Wii is good too.

I believe the more "mature" titles have been mentioned already. Anyway, another recommendation: Zack & Wiki. If you just look at the cover, you'll think it's kiddy. Answer? No. It's a point-and-click-adventure that will make you think quite a bit. I'm on the first few levels and I've figured that out. Also, yeah, go for the firs-party titles.

This post should be in a forum that is anti-Wii, which means not this one.

You are only going to get people here that are going to defend the Wii.

Get the Wii and get over it.

some people are mature and rather prefer games that aren't bright and colorful and full of child things like cartoony design or characters. some people prefer games that are more realistic like war games, shooters, and stories that have more depth..
i think your childish for saying that, because people have their own preference

Right there, Metroid Prime 3..

Plus there's Twilight Princess, Red Steel (It's not that bad), Galaxy (Staying away from that game is a grave mistake), RE4..

And they're only the ones that shine.. There's plenty more listed here...

That's the worst logic i've heard in ages. It's like saying people who don't ride tricycles are childish, and people who don't watch cartoons are childish. Watching cartoons may not immediately qualify you as being childish, so why should not watching cartoons make you childish? Has playing too many childish games made you think like one?

i would say samething at first

but now that manhunt is out and no more heroes

the system seems varied enough, while system like xbox is more just about 'kill, kill, kill'

and its not varried, sure best shooters might be on xbox, best rpg on ps3, but overall best collection would be on wii

and this can only proven by having game like warioware and manhunt on the same system!!

Can't argue with that. I have a Wii for Nintendo exclusives like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. Most other games I'll just be getting on my 360. If I only had a Wii, I'd probably feel left in the dark...but you can blame Nintendo for making it so weak.

Yeah I have a 360 and a Wii and I enjoy both but for different reasons. 360 or PS3 would probably be best if you want more of those hardcore games but I have best of both worlds because on my Wii, I can play Nintendo exclusive games that I grew up on and my girlfriend loves it so it makes my life much easier....but if you can only get one, then check out what games are out for all the systems and look at what you like the most, maybe make a pros and cons list? lol...

Oh, come ON!!! RE4? Medal of Honor: Heroes? Freakin' BRAWL? This system may have stuff that appeals to anyone, even non-gamers, but the Wii has good games already, and even better ones ( like Sadness) are set to come out this year!

this guy is an idiot. apparently he doesnt do research on games and platforms. if he did he would know that the wii isnt just a fuc**** party machine. the only multiplayer game i have on my wii is wii sports and smg (which doesnt even qualify as a true multi-player experience imo) the rest are first or third person shooters that only require that "I" and I alone progress the game and not a group of people. look at the wii's library before you go offsaying that the games seem to childish(because not all of them are). the wii can easily accomodate solo player action on a more mature atmosphere.

and thats not wii defense, thats just the facts yo!!!

Only a few games are childish. Here are some good ones.

Metroid Prime 3

No More Heroes

Guitar Hero 3

The Godfather

Scarface

Endless Ocean

There are MANY great games for the Wii. Just because a game may look childish game doesn't mean it's awesome. Take Super Mario Galaxy for example.

Wait a minute, why would you care if a game is childish? It's a game, it doesn't matter if it's kiddy or gory as long as it's fun for you.

It's because it's not only a party machine. Wii also has "hardcore" games. I have 16 Wii games on my wishlist and there's 0 party games maybe just Super Smash Bros Brawl or Mario Kart if you can say they are "party" games.

People are forgetting what makes Wii different aside from controls. It offers all the mainstream matuer / adult games like the 360 and PS3 + games like Zelda and Metroid. Also with exclusives like Medal of Honour: Heroes 2. But there is also a family friendly component to it as well. Get this right, 360 line up = Wii line up (on basic terms) but after that you add the nintendo 1st party titles (both "kiddie" and "hardcore") + some 3rd party exclusives. Then you add how Wii makes games feel more alive and interesting so + control scheme. Remeber there all HEAPS of 1st party titles. So in the end Wii = FTW.

This family friendly / "Childish" sterotype givin to the Wii is false as it is only a component or part or it. Its an extra, so consider it more value for money. All the mainsteam matuer / "hardcore" games are still here.

A game is childish because you treat it like such. Otherwise if you did a bit of research you would find afew "mature" titles. I honestly cannot understand this, if you want action, get a PC. If you want fun, get a Wii. Most Wii games aren't on the PC, while most XBOX games are on the PC. Hence why I got PC and Wii. Am I missing something?
