Earlier tonight I was at the mall, waiting for the next showing of Iron Man (great movie, by the way). To pass the time, I was doing some window shopping, and as I was turning a corner I realized that I thought that I was drifting around it.
Now, I've been playing a lot of Mario Kart lately, and when I say "a lot", I mean like 30 or more hours since Monday (I'm on my summer vacation, give me a break). If you've played Mario Kart, you know what drifting is.
Well yeah, I thought I was drifting around a corner. Then, I was upset that I didn't get a speed-boost.
I know, I know...I'm an idiot.
But my question to you is: have you ever played a game so much that things from the game feel like they should be a part of every-day life?
Like, for instance, have you ever wanted to roll to your destination like Link does? Or have you ever wanted to have a "sprint" button that you can press, so you'll have a burst of speed for a short while?
Or how about this: Have you ever logged enough hours into a game that when you close your eyes, all you can see is the game? I used to play a lot of Tetris, and I swear to God, I could play Tetris in my mind if I closed my eyes. Still can.
...wait, let me check
*Closes eyes*
Yep, I just got four-sies! (I think it's actually called a "tetris")
Share your crazy (Wii-related, of course) "I played a game so much" stories.
Or, if you don't have any real-life stories, just explain what elements from video games you wish were real.
...I know there's more people out there who have done this. Just the other day, my girlfriend tried to paint a circle in the sky to make the sun appear (a la "Okami").
So, whaddya got?
