Are there any good online games coming out?Harden_hawkLets see so far we got Pokemon(not good), Mario Strikers, and Madden 08...
Personally I skipped everything from Nintendo since the SNES. I went SNES, PS, XBOX, Wii. It has suited me well. With the Wii I can play good stuff from all the previous Nintendo consoles (Zelda OoT, Gamecube games, etc) and I can get back to my retro gaming via $5-$10 downloads on the Wii shop. To be honest though, if you aren't going to go retro I haven't seen many games calling out for me. Metroid 3, Zelda Twilight Princess, and other party games that other consoles just don't have. So IMO if I didn't have all of that to lean on I wouldn't have got one.raahsnavjDid I mention I have a family too? Easy sell: "see honey, we can all play it!" Yeah, easy way to upgrade this time around.
bwii2 ,MoHH2, brawl (maybe), MSCkfd_05yeah should of told him that you where talking about games being online
Anyway I love my wii and I would try a friends wii frist to see if you really like it

I'll one up ya. I've never owned a Nintendo console until I bought my Wii. I went Atari 2600, SEGA Genesis (still play that one), Playstation, XBOX, Wii. I was and still am a BIG sega fan and Sonic and the Secret Rings was what attracted me to the Wii to start with. I'm a little late to the Nintendo party to be sure but I'm liking the vibe.
to the TC: If you can get your hands on one, the Wii is definitely the unique one of this batch. Some of the more complex games took a bit for me to get used to as far as controls go but once you feel them out they tend to be more immersive than the standard dual-analog configuration. Then there's the Virtual Console. Not much to say there. Classics on the (relatively) cheap.
I've noticed that the Wii's catalog has a good smattering of a genre that's by and large become extinct in the age of HD and online and shooters and all that goes with modern gaming. I'm talking about puzzle games. Puzzle games are addicting to say the least and I'm glad to see that you can get these kinds of games on the Wii. Now I'm not saying you can't get them from other places but they seem to be more the norm on this platform.
Sorry to drag my post on and on. Let's just suffice to say that I enjoy my Wii and I'm pretty sure any gamer could get enjoyment out of one, granted they were available for purchase...

"I really want a Wii." You answered your own question.Duckman5
well....that was pretty simple...we went through all that just to realize he answered himself?....cool 8) , but yea, get a wii, ittl be awesome when galaxy and brawl come out, cant wait for that
wii sucks. i have a xbox360 and i wish i never bought the wii. There are NO good games if u compare the games with xbox games. and online is just crap and everybodies gonna say ' well, wait a year for all the good games to come out, you will see, just wait'. Well, the 360 had great games within a year of its release. awptimistic
Ummmm, no. The 360 took it's time releasing a truly great game. Ghost Recon did not come out until 5 months after launch, and then of course Oblivion. But there wasn't much. And yes, Perfect Dark 0 was extremely dissapointing.
Arguably in only nine months of release the Wii has had some great games in Super Paper Mario, Wii Sports, Zelda:TP, and Metroid 3.
There has definitely been a Wii drought, but historically every console takes time getting some quality games out after launch. Also, don't forget the VC.
Can you live without the high-end prdoction multi-platform games like NBA 2K8, Call of Duty 4, Assassins Creed, Rock Band, Kane & Lynch, Army of Two, or Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway?
Do you not care for exclusive like Mass Effect, Gears of War, or Halo 3?
If so, get a Wii. But make a list first of Wii games your interested in this year. Are there enough games there to justify the purchase?
Where do your interests fall? Personally I think a Wii60 combo is perfect for any gamer. The PS3 seems like it'll be another year for some truly great games to be out, but not this fall.
Also, you should reconsider Medal of Honor Heroes 2. See the new hands-on preview today over at IGN, it seems this isn't just some PS2 hand me down like usual. It's got clean visuals, creative wii-motion gestures, a variety of modes, and 32 player online play. And remember, online is free on the Wii.
Good luck in your decision.

xbox360 won the console of the year this year, and last year....
And yes, Perfect Dark 0 was extremely dissapointing.
perfect dark 0 .got rated 9.0....thats bad?

super paper mario. ok? i didnt really have much fun with that but it was still a good time killer
wii sports = . . . . .this game came with the machine...no legs..r u poor or something, this is a good game?
Zelda = cool, just like the other zelda games
Metroid 3 = HAHA .. what r u comparing that game to? Halo? XD
VC= . . . .I thought they were aiming FORWARD into the future, not going backwards into the past..
K so in total, you can think of 4 games in 9 months. Compare that with the xbox releases within 9 months.

Wow, this isn't system wars. And Perfect Dark 0 was no 9.0 game. Heck, go to system wars, ask around, that game was barely above average. 9.0 equals greatness. It was a launch game buzz score, nobody considers that game great these days. And yes, I played through it.
Also, why would I compare Metroid 3 to Halo. I'm comparing it to nothing, it's a great game, reviews and fans thus far agree. Halo is great in its own right as well.
As for Wii sports, in case you missed it, it was a cultural phenomenon. All over the news, and immense buzz, and a large reason the Wii is selling at a record pace. Interaction like that was unprecedent for console gaming.
Look, your being a blind fanboy if you don't thnk there was a drought of quality games until Ghost recon Advanced Wars was released five months after 360 launched. It's common knowledge. PGR3, Kameo, PD0 . . . these were all pretty good games, but nothing great, although I like the PGR series. Oblivion was a great game too released in March, not my cup of tea, but a highly rated, purchased, and respected game.
I also know how dry the summer was of any decent games last year for the 360. I purchased my 360 in early June last year, I know. People were anticipating Prey like it was Halo 3 they were so starved. Thankfully Dead Rising came out in August. I consider that a great game, but it scored more in teh 8's around sites and had an annoying save structure.
But stop being a blind fanboy. Droughts are common in the first year of a consoles launch, heck, look at PS3, nothing mindblowing yet there either.
There were a lot of very solid titles for the 360 in its first year, culminating with the great Gears of War one year after launch. Definitely a lot more solid titles than the Wii thus far. But Wii has still had some good games from Rayman to Trauma Center, and great games in Zelda TP and Metroid 3.
If such games are not yoru cup of tea, then sell yoru damn Wii and get over it, get on eBay and get rid of it, there still hard to come by so you might even get whaty you paid for it originally.
