Can you use a normal controller for wii games I just don't think I will like using a remote to play wii games or even a wheel...for Mario kart?
If no why didnt they make a controller for the wii, for people that might not like remotes.

Do you need lots of friends to have a wii.

Apparently the wii is really hard to play.

I have never had any other Nintendo's consoles so would all n64 and GameCube games be available through the wii to download.

Also is the internet really bad on the wii.

Nintendo has a classic controller that can be used as a "normal" controller. Many of the games coming out now have the option of playing with the wii-remote, classic controller of even the gamecube controller. Once you get used to it playing with the remote it will be second nature. Just don't think of it as a remote. The remote is "normal" for the Wii. You don't need any friends to play your Wii, it just makes it more fun. Who ever told you that the Wii is hard to play doesn't play very often. No one knows how many N64 games are gonna be available, but there are a quite a few so far. Gamecube games will not be available for download, since you can play gamecube games on the Wii. How good or bad the Internet is on the Wii depends on your Internet connection. If you have a good ISP and a good router you should have no problem. Dial-up just sucks so don't even bother with that. In other words..just get the Wii...you won't be disappointed.

1) depends on the game...but mostly no. give it a go though, its something new and different. ive found it quite easy to get used to and miss using it for alot of games now. u can use a normal controller with mario kart though.

2) why would they? it would completly undermine the wiimote and nunchuck. other consoles dont come out with 2 controllers and universally support them...why should the wii be any different?

3) i use it mostly as a single player console (i dont play multiplayer very much) and i have no complaints.

4) not really no. theres a bit of getting used to the wiimote and nunchuck but if u can use a mouse in a PC game then ure off to a good start. motion sensing is quite intuitive in most games.

5) the Virtual console does offer games for the N64, snes, nes, turbografix 16, sega mega drive and neo geo and new games are added weekly. whether itll eventually get every game ever for all those platforms is unknown....but the library is already quite extensive. as for the gamecube.....u need to buy the gamecube game itself (ie the disc). u will also need a GC controller and memory card. gamecube games will not work with the classic controller, nor will they save to the wiis internal memory.

6) setting it up to play online is easy and i havent had any major problems with online play or the shopping channel. its certainly reliable in my experience. online play in alot of games is lacking on wii though. mario kart is the wiis best example of an online game...but it still lacks communication between playes which makes it a pit of a damp squib. hopefully ninty sort this out for future games.

Why don't you just try the Wii remote and form your own opinion? And the Wii is really easy to play, that's one of the reasons it's selling so well.

Too many Questions. Wikipedia much?

Anyways, There is the ****c Controller, or Gamecube controllers. (These dont work in EVERY game)No not alot of friends.. (Why would you ask that??) No it is not hard to play. Its to much fun to play, and no not EVERY n64,SNES,NES, and GCN game is on there. But theres new ones coming out often so... yeah. Alot of the good ones are on there. (Old old Mario karts anyone?)

And the Internet isnt THAT bad on it. MK Wii has great internet, where Brawl gets problems some times.

Otherwise... BUY ONE! Maximum funness, Party games, and more fun! How could you not want it!?

As an added bonus, when using the Internet channel or when messaging someone, you can use a regular keyboard in one of the USB ports.

Everyone I know who has had a chance to try the Wii loves it. That includes my friends, my mom, and my co-workers. People who don't like video games, like my boss's wife, have all told me that they had fun playing on the Wii.

And the motion controls make the games super easy. I just finished Bully on the Wii. I can't imagine fighting with a regular controller. It was so much easier and more natural to shake whichever hand to throw a punch.

Do you need lots of friends to have a wii. Man, I so BADLY want to say something like "Yes, when you go to the store to get your Wii, you need to fill up an application and bring proof of at least 100 friends."

Also is the internet really bad on the wii. Yes, the Internet is a horrible scary place on the Wii, but then again, it's the same thing on any type of Internet browser

I AM SUCH A JERK.

The Wiimote is generally very easy to use actually. If you've used a mouse (and you must have considering that you're using a computer right now), than the pointer is instantly understood. And the motion sensing, as long as the developer put some effort into it, can work quite well.

Yes, a lot of the better games for the Wii are compatable with the Gamecube controller. I don't know if that's "normal" enough for you though..

No, of course not. But it certainly makes it more fun.

Um.. no it's not hard to play. You get used to it really fast.

Well the Wii is backwards compatable meaning that it can play Gamecube games. As for NES, SNES and N64 - well you can't download all but there is a great list of games that you can download including Papaer Mario (N64), Ocarina of Time (N64) Super Mario Bros. 3 (SNES) etc...

Yes it is very bad. It's the worst out of all the 3 consoles.

No, it can't be worse than the DreamCast browser, can it? I mean, I still have my disk, and it's not all that great.

Actually, I was comparing Wii to the PS3 and 360.

Unless you were being sarcastic or something. It's hard to tell on the internet.

No, it's just that the 360 has no Internet browser, but then again, I could have been the one mistaken when you meant to say on-line play rather than just browsing the Internet.

When I first used the Wii remote I feel in love with it. While I would not use the Wiimote for competitive games (Mario Kart/Brawl matches) it works great for single player games. You can use the Gamecube and classic controllers for those. And there are always the Wavebird controllers if you desire wireless as well.

Even the Wii wheel isn't too bad, it has only severely screwed me over a couple of times, and I am not sure why.

Web =/= Internet. (the internet is what the world wide web, email, gaming, and everything else runs through. It's been around far longer than any browser or HTML site)

I'm fully aware of those facts, I was in college around the time the first browser came out. You see, the problem started when the TC asked if the Internet was the worst on Wii, to which I made some dumb remark, and I spoke of how the Internet is the same Internet on anything. The TC never specified what he meant and made too many general questions. If he had asked about playing on-line, then sure, I would have agreed with Lyphe2K. So you see, the Internet I get on my phone is the same Internet I get on this computer, only the phone is more limited. I was a jerk anyway, so maybe I deserve it, who knows.

2 players spilt-screen, or just single on-line full screen. Hard to say if they will be bored. I know I won't, it's all up to people's taste.
