regarding gc games on wii and smash bros brawl coming out later this year.  its regarding the gc controllers wired and wireless (wavebirds) which as i found out today after calling numerous eb games, that they have been DISCONTINUED. i called around some future shops, a best buy, and walmart, and they too have said they get them once in a while, but haven't gotten any lately and that according to their ship logs, computers, etc, the gc controller shave been discontinued.  so what are we gonna do when our controllers get messed up (like control sticks get broken or buttons get pushed in from mashers like mario party, dragonball z and others) or maybe somehting else happens. its also bad for those who never had a gamecube...which means they don't have gc controllers and probably won't be able to find em in stores. so is nintendo gonna re-release them for brawl or is it gonna be a forceful classic controller?

Probably stuck with the classic controller.  Rather than spend the money to produce tow remotes for the same purpose they'll just phase out one and leave the new one on the market.  That way they don't get screwed out of sells by people buying the old GC controllers.  I believe they charge more for the classic controller than the GC controllers and if they don't people could still buy used GC controllers pretty cheap.

Just buy a 3rd party controller, they're fine.

they could just use the Wii-mote nunchuck combination with minimal use of the controllers abilities. That could work :P

from a price point, nintendo would be making moeny off the nintendo wavebirds - those things still cost 45.99$ cdn. brand new.  used controllers are not the best choice as the control sticks tend to be messed up and won't last as long.

classic controller mayb i could deal with..but the taught of haveing the wiimote dangle from it....just don't feel rite...especially when theres alot of ppl playin, the wiimote could get damaged (we all know how emotional some hefty melee battles get, and a swinging wiimote could get smahed somewhere).

maybe they could figure out a way to connect the classic controlle rto the console but that would be costly.

and imo, wiimote for smash bros brawl wpould be too hectic. the game is crazy enough with the fast pace, and waving the wiimote like mad would make it a more tireing experience.  mayb it could work...but i would prefer an alternate controller shceme.

I know plenty of friends with gamecubes looking to sell them. Im sure you all have at least one friend whom you could borrow or buy a controller from thats in good condition thats what i did. Anyway, the Wii add-on controller isn't half bad.
