I kinda agree, I love my sonic but this game doesn't give me as much joy or fun value as the sonic adventure series.

I wish they would make another.

Agreed, I really disliked Sonic and the Secret Rings, though it's infintely more fun than the latest 360 sonic offering. But I think the concept is right: this is how to recreate the feel of sonic in three dimensions. But the player needs to be given more freedom.

SO true! i love that post! Sonic sucks soooo bad! it isnt even a good DVD! I cant believe people like that game, it is one of the least enjoyable games ever, except the little mini games are ok.

I enjoy playing SaSR.

 If you think that you can play the game with out much movement you probley didnt get much futher than the training levels

Sonic ATSR is a great game IMO, how long have you actually had it/played it for? Because once you get to the later levels and you've unlocked all the upgrades and crests for Sonic you need lightning fast reactions to keep up with the action on-screen.

It's really not like that at all though, you're missing out by not at least giving it a try.

IMO it's more like an action platformer/racer. Like racing games there is a set track (with numerous alternated routes) but like platformer games there are enemies to kill, gaps to jump and obstacles to avoid along the way. You also upgrade Sonic as you play through the game which is a great incentive to keep playing; I've recently unlocked the Dark crest (Sonic's boost meter constantly replenishes), The Wind crest (Sonic's top speed is increased a ridiculous amount) and the Fire crest (Sonic creates a big ball of fire around himself when you use an attack, which increases you attack radius a lot.)

Wow, I can't believe how many people have been put off buying this game from this one guy's post; the TC is entitled to his opinion but I don't see why everyone is taking it as gospel truth. No reviews I have read have mentioned anything about slow gameplay, and that's because it's one of the fastest games out there (you just have to play it for a while to unlock Sonic's speed upgrades); the only game I've played that is faster is F-Zero GX. Come on!  If all you had to do to sell a game was put Nintendo on it, 3rd party companies would print their names really small on the box, and make the word Nintendo really big.  And the most common thing I heard people say about Excite Truck was that it was barely more than a demo.

HOw is it really any different from the early 2d sonic games?  It's not like it took much effort to hold the right directional buttong and occasionally hit jump from time to time.   But people loved the early Sonic.

At first, I wondered why the topic creator thought he needed to put the word 'sarcasm' in his post.  Now, I see that even that wasn't good enough for some people.

I've only played the first three non-training missions in the game but I have to say it's been a pretty big letdown so far, even if I only compared it to SA2B for Gamecube. What makes it even more frustrating is that the game looks great. Maybe someone who's played the entire game could comment on whether it's better taken altogether.chewie198
