I noticed that if I closed all the curtains, that the cursor no longer jumped around like crazy on the screen. There wasn't any direct sun coming in but bright enough apparently. Perhaps a feature to get more people outside during nice weather.

This is probably written up in documenation or FAQ, but I don't stop and ask for directions either.

I just figured out that I can pick up the reflection of my ceiling light in the mirror with the Wiimote. So I can point at the mirror and the cursor will move on the screen like normal. But if I point directly at the light (not through the mirror), the cursor appears but is extremely jumping and uncontrollable.

But if I point it at my desk lamp about ten feet away, the cursor works just fine. That's good to know, in case my sensor bar ever goes on the fritz. It'll also be cool to freak people out.... like go in another room and point the Wiimote at a lamp so that the cursor moves with apparently nobody controlling it.

Not entirely related, but I once beat my friend at Wii Tennis while I was in another room. I couldn't see the screen.

haha, that happened to me today too. I kept trying to figure out what was up when my Wiimote would freak out, then later in the day ( usually night ) it worked perfectly. This morning I was going to put another hour in on RE4 before work but my cursor kept flippin out. I looked up and saw my window open and the sun glaring a bit, dropped the shade and it worked great.

Adjusting the wiimote sensitivity helps. Just turn down the sensitivity in the wii settings until you only see the two dots from the sensor bar.

Brilliant! Can't be good for your friend's ego though. Maybe want to throw the next match ...

Glad I'm not the only that's been affected. I was beginning to think I was jinxed - first the 360, laptop, then satellite tuner. Had the Wii been next, heck, I would have had to take up hiking on the weekends or something. Nice tip about turning down the sensatiivity to help with the problem too.
