One of the primary purposes of the mainline Pokemon games for the handheld machines, like Diamond/Pearl and HeartGold/SoulSilver, is to get people to buy those handheld consoles. There is thus basically zero chance of them making it to a console.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I wish that existed too :D. If it was like GTA and you could just walking around town and chill with you pokemon id so buy that.inka123How about a mmorpg pokemon? i d so buy that
Well there is an argument to made that if not use the handheld gameplay structure then finally find a gameplay design that works for the 3d console versions of Pokemon. As games like Stadium, Colosseum, Battle Revolution seem like cut off segments of their handheld counterparts. Maybe a more WRPG aproach would be appropriate for console Pokemon as their current attempts are not impressive.One of the primary purposes of the mainline Pokemon games for the handheld machines, like Diamond/Pearl and HeartGold/SoulSilver, is to get people to buy those handheld consoles. Gameplay exactly like the gameboy/ds games but graphics like coliseum.......that is my dream game
Wasn't Colliseum like that?
no, because in Colosseum, you can't go to routes and look for a wild pokemon in grass or surfing on water....fight gyms, E4.... trade with people in game use HMs in game..........etc. wow I am getting excited for this one :DWell there is an argument to made that if not use the handheld gameplay structure then finally find a gameplay design that works for the 3d console versions of Pokemon. Personally, I like the Pokemon MMORPG idea that people keep floating around, I think that would be cool.

I do too. Its the next logical step as Pokemon becomes more online oriented.This 3D idea won't last... It's already proven to ruin your eyesight and gives you headaches, we are going to have a generation of Nintendo obsessed kids with terrible eyesight...Gameplay exactly like the gameboy/ds games but graphics like coliseum.......that is my dream game

Agreed. And this is actually why I'm all for someone coming in and just completely ripping off pokemon and making an MMORPG out of it. Truthfully, I haven't really got down and played a Pokemon game since red/blue, so I feel absolutely no love for any of the new Pokemon that would likely be in a console version of the game made by Nintendo anyway.One of the primary purposes of the mainline Pokemon games for the handheld machines, like Diamond/Pearl and HeartGold/SoulSilver, is to get people to buy those handheld consoles. Come on, there has to be some dev out there that is looking to make some money but just can't come up with any good ideas and would be willing to "borrow" material from Nintendo. Just rename Ash "Adam" the Elite Four "the Supreme Four" and Pikachu "thunder rabbit" and everything will be just fine. You'll be happy and all of us patient Pokemon fans will be happy and promise not to tell Nintendo a thing.
Don't listen to him Spectrobes is a horrible Disney rip of pokemon. The direction Pokemon Black and White is leading in looks ok but still not the picture we all dream ofI no, I would even settle for a 3d pokemon game with the retro graphix of the 64 titles could be wiiware. But another cool extreme dream would be pokemon virtual reality with Avatar styled pods to link in lol, I would invest inthatfor sure :D, and atleast your eyes wouldnt get f**ked from it.
Horrible?!?! Which part? Spectrobes is the game that drew me away from Mass Effect (on PC). I liked it a fair bit. Kinda off topic but i hated the way of leveling using minerals and its very easy to master the excavating mechanic of the game which did out do fossil fighters i must admit. Also a lot of the spectrobes could look cool if minor features didnt ruin them such as extra legs and so on and some really bad colour varieties. It has a couple of ok features but nothing in the league of pokemon.
Crystal leveling? Who levels using crystals? That's really slow and tedious. You only do that when you feel like managing virtual pets. The rest of the time, you excavate a new Spectrobe and score A on the excavation - this gets you a Spectrobe of your level. Faster than using crystals. I liked the way most of the Spectrobes looked. Had a nice aesthetic. In some ways it's not as good as Pokemon - monster variety was notably down, but it IS on console, it's got a fun battle dynamic, and it's relatively new as monster collecting games go. There's nothing horrible about it as you say. You just didn't know about the excavation thing and didn't like some monster aesthetics. It'll do until a proper Pokemon game shows up on console, if it ever does.Kinda off topic but i hated the way of leveling using minerals and its very easy to master the excavating mechanic of the game which did out do fossil fighters i must admit. What I think would be cool is if the battles worked like FFXIII with the Pokemon moving around the stage, same formula, but more realistic looking.
@roxlimn
I have played through both games so i know what im talking about and I said excavating was one fun aspect but it gets repetitive and easy to get A rank on after a litle practice then after that its not that fun. The game lacks replay value, its not worth the money and also no one remembers the names of the spectrobes where as pokemon, im pretty sure most people can name atleast 100. All im saying is yes its a unique game alternative but far from the likes of pokemon.
[QUOTE="locopatho"]It'll never happen. I remember how excited I was for 3D Pokemon on N64. I ended up with Pokemon Snap :|GabuEx
One of the best Pokemon games ever!
Yes it was good sir!...Or just wait until they release it on a future handheld. Seeing where Black and White are going, it won't be long. :P
Assuredly, it is not on the same level, but I wouldn't call it "horrible." The game lacks replay value, but the campaign's a healthy length, and it's amusing for the duration. I certainly never found the excavation tedious enough to call it "repetitive." As you said, it's easy to master, so you excavate 4 Spectrobes every 4 levels. Hardly something worth noting as "repetitive," IMO. It's also only $20 now - cheap for a game. $6 from some private sellers, $7.50 used. Surely, the game is worth $6?roxlimn
Well if it were between $7 and $20 then yea alright for newcomers but seeing as i live in the hole of the gaming industry (Australasia) it comes at about $50 new DS games being around $70 to $80 so that adds to my insult on the game but hey the biggist insult came from Disney when they made it lol if only someone else thought of the concept first then I wouldn't have sold both my copies. Anyway this is meant to be about Pokemon not Spectrobes so get over the fact that i called your beloved game horrible.
