I want Starcraft on the VC

Does anybody else want the old N64 starcraft to come out on the virtual console? I know its probably impossible but I logged so many hours into that game that I know I would buy that game in a heartbeat if it came out on VC.

i think a wiiware wii-make might be better suited... or a retail game alltogether, as its a pretty in-depth game, and i think pointer controls would be better suited for itgarrett_duffman

They need to resurect Starcraft Ghost.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Here's a small snip from a GDC chat given by Blizzard's game design EVP Rob Pardo:

"...[Warren] Spector then turned to Pardo and joked, 'I'd love to see what you guys do with the Wii,' to which the Blizzard exec smiled and raised his eyebrows, but stayed silent."

I wouldn't say anything is certain but Pardo's coy response has led some to speculate that Blizzard might have something up their sleeve regarding the Wii. Personally, I couldn't care less. I think Blizzard's games are VERY overrated.

Starcraft is a great game for all intents and purposes, but when Nintendo got the license for Starcraft 64, they didn't get it for very long. Meaning after about 2 years or so, Nintendo didn't have any stake in the game anymore.

It's not going to appear on the VC. A lot of people would probably get it if it were with updated controls, online mode, pointer controls, and the expansion content, but in all honesty, Blizzard supports PC before consoles. It's heart has always been with PC.

That being said, the Wii is eerily devoid of ANY RTS game... Considering the control scheme, it would seem a natural choice.

Just get it for PC, its far superior and it will probly run on any PC now. I got my copy at target for $5, though that was a long time ago.

i rather a remake on wiiware and add online play, i have good hopes that the wii remote would work prety good as a mouse, not excellent but not bad, and if all fails just use a regular controler like always

For a game that probably sold 1000 copies on the N64 this is funny lol. But even though the game is awesome it'll never happen.

yeah i remember playing 2 player with my brother all the time
