Hi im a little new to competitive battling and i would like some advice. i have this Shiny Female Tyranitar (Tyra =D). but im having trouble deciding if i should learn it Fire punch or Ice punch. it is ev trained and level 85. it has the following stats Evs: 180 Hp, 252 Atk, 76 Spd Nature: Adamant (am i lucky or what =D) Hp: 322 Atk: 322 Def: 213 S.Atk : 167 S.Def: 196 Spd: 118 (Going to Have) Item: Choice Band Ability: Sand Stream Crunch Stone Edge Earthquake Ice Punch / Fire Punch im going to combine it with a Agility Metagross and a Sweeper Excadrill. i still have it in my platinum so i can choose any of the two moves. as soon as it becomes level 100 im going to transfer it to my pokemon black. that is if i can decide my mind =/ Also: does i look any good? again i am pretty new to competitive play.

I don't see any difference between the two moves besides the actual attribute and status effects (burn, freeze) so I can only imagine it would be down to preference.

I would go with Ice Punch because freezing is a better status effect than burn IMO.

Ice punch. Ice type is very useful, many people use flying/dragon/ground types, and your other attacks cover most of the types fire attacks are super-effective against anyway.

Fire Punch is good for Scizor so that's something to consider.

Anyways you should list the IV and EV spreads instead of the stats.

FIre Punch would be better instead of ice punch. Ice punch is mostly for dragons and since most overused/powerful dragons are mixed with flying, you can seriously wound them with stone edge.

Force your brother to start a new file, but then make him EV train every pokemon that you lost.

What really matters is what your other team has more of a problem with. If you team is weaker to dragon flying of ground and or to steels then you should pick accordingly. Otherwise I would go with ice punch as the opponents ground types (particularly landurus and it's super effective STAB sand forced earthquake ) will benefit from your sandstorm making the far more dangerous.

I have to add to what I said after seeing your other two team members.(wish there was an edit on the posts) All three of your team members are weak to Ground thus a strong ground type can run all over your team while stealing all the benefits from your sandstorm. You Need to try and counter this weakness as as of now you are at risk of having your entire team torn apart by Earth Quake. Therefor unless you have a balloon on one as well as something to take out ground types then you will have a serious problem with ground types. As a general rule you don't want all of your Pokemon to share the exact same weakness especially if that weakness gets buffed by the weather your team brings....

At the bottom right there's an option that says (Select an action below). That's where you can edit and delete posts.
