Sorry, but the DS couldn't handle that. It would still be great to have a SSB for DS, but it would have to be similar to the original in numbers of characters and such. In fact, it might even be a semi-remake like SM64: DS.
I estimate around fifteen characters, new stages, ds download and online multiplayer, and Classic, Break the Targets, and Adventure mode. Also, it should be on the DSi and subsequently take advantage of the camera and SD slot.
Hey, great idea! That way, they'd be able to fit much more in the game, and the graphics wouldn't suffer at all! After all, I'd rather have clean, good-looking sprites than N64-like 3D characters.i say it should be 2-d fighter (well technically smash is allready 2-d)
but i mean 2-d graphics

All right-DSi then. Just post things that you would like to see on a Super Smash Bros. game for the DS....I!!!! Geez....SuperfastSonicThe DSi would be no more capable of handling the game you suggested than the DS. However it could offer innovative gameplay mechanics using the camera and have downloadable levels and such using the memory and SD slot. Anyways, I think that because there would be limited slots for characters they should stick to one per series. Now supposing they use 2D sprites they might be able to squeeze in 20 characters max. I suggest:
1. Mario
2. Link
3. Samus
4. Pikachu
5. Fox
6. DK
7. Ness or Lucas
8. Captain Falcon
9. Yoshi
10. Sonic
11. Kirby
12. Mega-Man
13. Olimar
14. Mr. Game and Watch
15. Wario
16. Pit
17. Marth
18. Ice Climbers
19. ROB
20. Someone new and unexpected.
Of course, to have that many characters would come at the expense of other features like items, stages, game modes, etc.
number 20 shuld be p. trainerVolt_Storm_7No, one character a series is good. And Pokemon Trainer counts as three in my book. Besides, if we are going to put more than one character for a series then we should have bowser or ganon.
Come on guys! Look what Hal Laboratory did with Kirby Super Star Ultra's cut-scenes,they were amazing! And they did more than 20 of them! If they can do this,I think they could handle a Smash Bros. game for the DSi.SuperfastSonicMaking a character is much harder than making a cutscene. The DS/DSi could handle a Smash Bros, but it would have to be something in between the original and melee.

Take out snake and sonic, put Ganon, bowser, and another girl. I wouldn't care much if they took out some items and game mode. For me they should keep The one player mode from the first ssb, multiplayer, and online. Give me that and i'm set to play my ds for life. Wait, please though for the love of god keep the gameplay the same and don't make it like jus.

Kirby should definitely be on this list instead of Sonic or Snake. Megaman is good, though, and add Bomberman, and this would be a good roster.[QUOTE="Head_of_games"]The DSi would be no more capable of handling the game you suggested than the DS. What's wrong with one per series? Anyways, I suppose game modes don't matter if the AI and online are good.I never said there is anything wrong with one per series, it's just that I would rather have Ganon and Bowser over those two. Maybe that's just me though. I will agree with the second part though. If AI and online is good, i'm happy with that.
How could you forget Kirby!?!? If it wasn't for him there wouldn't BE Hal Laboratory! Kirby means alot to us fans: he's my avatar for cry'in out-loud!!SuperfastSonicThus the "Oh snap I forgot Kirby!" Anyways I think perhaps they could fit in more than 20 characters as long as it was 2D sprites with no single player mode. After all, if you had a good online that matched you up with players of equal skill level than you could play forever. Online should have tournaments as well.
i don't think that it would be that dificult.
using nsmb graphics, they could easily pull it off.
about 10 characters(so that not much memory is wasted here)
MARIO, LINK, SAMUS, NESS, FOX,
none of those pointless ones.
online could be supported, and fields could be designed (nothing like hyrule temple though)
The ds might actually be able to put the n64 to shame with the number of characters it can have. The n64 cartidge had 16mb of space and the ds has up to 128mb of space. That is a heck of an amount more than the n64. Especially if sprites are used the amount of characters that could be made might surpass the wii in the number of characters. Now I have nothing against stating some 3rd party characters but don't name other 1st party characters (ex. Master chief) that is just pointless.
Megaman and viewtiful joe might not be too hard to get on the next super smash bros capcom has had a pretty good history with nintendo.
Thats my two cents...
I don't think it would work, an SB game would work on a handheld, they always have been on an Nintendo Console system instead, cause of the amount of data having to been stored on the discs and cartidages! But i would like it to be kinda transferred in a way to an Nintendo Handheld! They'll have to make it all 2-D instead of uselitizing 3-D Graphics to keep its size down! But an good idea Superfastsonic! I appaual you! WELL DONE!ComboTroopThanks ComboTroop! Thanks to all that commented(maybe Hal Laboratory will take a hint on this)! Anyone who want's to be my friend can be my guest and track me-I don't mind(I'm looking for friends anyway). I'll be posting in the near future so be prepared! Bwah Hah Hah!
Hey hey hey... wait a minute man, I think you're taking it so far that is almost imposible to believe. At least, as the way you're describing it. What you say looks awesome, but remember we're talking of the DS... DS won't be able to have a super duper game with millions of characters... or it can be..? hey waint a minute, isn't ultimate jump stars one of thosse games xD yeaah.. well never mind! maybe one day you're dream will come true (we all wish for that) and thank god Nintendo Ds is awesome!
If they were to make one, they should add stuff like adventure and classic mode, versus and special melee, more variety of items, ds download play and online mode.
As for charaters, they should put in about 20-25 characters at least with more variety. By that I mean no more than two characters from the same brand. So if you put Mario in the game, you can only put one more character from the mario series. The same goes for zelda, pokemon, kirby, ect. This, I think, will give the creators more imagination and originality instead of putting, let's say, three characters with similar appearances/move sets(Mario, Luigi and Dr.Mario. This was completely pointless IMO).
Now for the characters themselves. Since this will be a SSB for the DS, I'm going to put charactrs from both SSB and other DS titles. Remember this is just my opinion. Don't like it, then make your own list.
#'s 1-11: The original 12 minus Jigglypuff(No more Mario characters)
# 12: Marth
# 13: Roxas (KH:358/2)
# 14: MegaMan (Either the original, Lan's Navi or Geo Stelar And Mega)
# 15: Zelda or Ganondorf (No more Zelda charaters)
# 16: Maxwell (Scribblenauts. Try coming up with a moveset for him)
# 17: Neku Sakuraba (TWEWY. Now what pins should he use)
# 18: Any character from a Final Fantasy game on the DS (I was thinking Luneth, Cecil or Vaan)
# 19: Platinum Pokemon Trainer (Pokemon would be Monferno, Empoleon and Turtwig, each with different moves that the other Pokemon Trainer. Also no more Pokemon characters)
# 20: Isaac (Not a DS character, but did make an appearance as an assist trophy in SSBB)
# 21: Axel (KH:358/2. No more KH characters)
# 22: Sonic or Shadow
# 23: Pit
# 24: Mr. Game & Watch
# 25: Silver (Sonic series. No More Sonic characters)
And there you go.
At this point I don't care what system the new SSB game is on as long as they bring Roy back. He was my baby in Meelee. Even though I suck at using him now, he's still incredible. x3 And Amaterasu! They should have her. Plus, now she's on DS. I couldn't care less about Chibiterasu though. But Ammy has all of her weapons as well as her Paintbrush techs. And her final smash could be like turning into Shiranui. I don't really want a 2D SSB though. Bleh.
I can't contribute at the moment, sorry.
EDIT: Having a TWEWY character in a SSB game...? Some how, as difficult as it is to believe, I don't want to see that. =/ I don't know why but it just doesn't really work. I mean... the pairings. I mean PikachuxMarth (Pikachu on top! D8 ) is one of the most popular pairings thanks to SSBB. And of course EveryonexPit. The mental scarring... *gag* But that's what Pit deserves for replacing the Boy Toy Roy. xD -shot-
I'm going to stop talking before I give myself nightmares again.
Just as long they can fit in Link, Zelda, Sheik, Ganondorf, Marth, Roy, Ike, Pit, & Zero Suit Samus *giggity*. And add in Lyndis (playable), Hector, Eliwood, Eirika, Ephraim, Elincia, Nephenee, Lethe, Micaiah, Sothe, Sora, Riku, Roxus, Xion, Axel, Cloud Strife, Neku, Shiki, Captain N, Megaman & Simon Belmont, I'm good.
I doubt something of that caliber would fit on the cartridge. I don't think there should be a DS version, the screen is far too small for huge four player battles.tktomo01
well, there is Jump Ultimate STars that pulled this off successfully.... they can do it in that style as well =)
but i agree! baby bower = zelda
dark mario = shiek
so why not.... =)
just the tranformers i have to politely say OVER MY DEAD BODY lol plus it wouldn`t be possible for publication rights and stuff....
