Its not epicly long but it will last a fair amount of time especially if you pace yourself. If I remember correctly the game starts out with a summary of windwaker even though they don't really have much of a collision of stories.
I finished it in about 15-20 hours and that's with a fair amount of extra exploration outside the main quest. If you plan on playing wind waker, though, I'd recommend doing that first so that you're not spoiled on it's story. If you don't care, then go ahead and get PH. The recap at the beginning will tell you everything you need to know.
