I know a lot of people don't like the DS Zelda games, but so far I am really liking Spirit Tracks. So do you think I would also like Phantom Hourglass?

Umm, I think it WOULD have been better to play Phantom Hourglass before playing Spirit Tracks. (Since it's the sequal.) But yeah, I think you should buy Phantom Hourglass.

spirit tracks is a masterpiece. phantom hourglass is good, but might get tiresome if you spend too much time on the temple of the ocean king or sailing. PH is still a good game, but i'm not sure how you'll react after having contact with a game far superior :P

The only thing better about PH is the overworld exploration because you don't have to ride the stupid train, which is basically like clicking "instant travel" and then waiting a long ass time. But even that's just marginally better. So my answer is no, not necessarily. Depends exactly what aspects of Spirit Tracks you like.

oh noes! my arch-disagree-er is here! :o lol but seriously, i think ST is one of the best experiences in the whole series, while phantom hourglass was good, but not remarkable. the characters and the humor was top-notch, the creativity was overflowing, but the great moments had too many boring moments in between.

The only thing I liked better about ST was the title song, and the snake whip, But both games are masterpieces because there are of course Zelda games and there both in the top 5 of my favorite DS games. I found PH to have more personallity, and I didn't hate the temple or boat

They are pretty much the same game, as far as design goes, with the differences being in some gameplay devices.

I personally enjoyed Phantom Hourglass, as it takes most of its gameplay elements from Wind Waker. Spirt Tracks is a very, very similar game overall, but I just did not enjoy the dual character control aspect of the gameplay. It just became tedious and boring very quickly.

If you think logically, the train is pretty much the same as the boat, You need them both to get around to places.

the train got boring fast too, with a horrible "stargate" warp system

I felt ST was much more refined and an all around better experience than PH. PH was a major letdown for me, and it remains one of my least favorite zelda games, IMO of course. As far as im concerned ST is the better game, it may not have changed things up drastically but it improved upon and fixed nearly all the faults i felt PH had, better music, better menus and design, and a better setting. So my advice to you is just stick with ST, PH and its ocean of the temple king are one thing you can afford to miss.

I was actually disappointed in Spirit Tracks. And seeing how similar it was to Phantom Hourglass, I have a feeling that if I went back and played PH now, I'd find that I didn't like it nearly as much as I thought I did. Or maybe I should give Spirit Tracks a year, and then play it again to see if I disliked it as much as I thought I did?

I dunno. I'd better sleep on this...

Phantom Hourglass is inferior to Spirit Tracks in almost every way, besides graphics and music. There is far more content in SP, and the central dungeon in PH needs to be repeated every time you beat a dungeon and that almost breaks the game. However, PH is still a good game, just not up to Zelda standards. Overall, though, I enjoyed it.
