If I turn my wii off (red light), do I still receive e-mails and updates?

I just wanted to know that if I turn my wii off (red light) do I still receive the updates and e-mails??

Please just awnser and don't insult me because I don't know!!

Nope... though you'll receive them when you switch it on... ^^
Wiiconnect is enabled when the Wii is on stand-by (yellow light)...

No, it has to be in stand-by (orange light) or on (green light).

i'd just leave it off and check you mail stuff after you get done playing games and all that, that's what I do. The updates thing is pointless right now unless you like having to wait less time checking out the channels.

Standby connection is a total waste of time and they're not even bothering to support it. All it does is make your Wii hot and screw the GPU, yeah I'm seeing artifacts.

you cant use the weather channel while the wii is in stand by moded (no idea why) and i you cant recive messages (i tried)

You won't recieve updates while it is off, but when you turn it back on, you'll receive it.

You will still receive emails. It just wont d/l them until you turn on your console.

if you turn on the wii connect 24 or something, it'll leave your wii idling and you'll received emails but your wii will get hot in couple of days without turning it on... thats what happen to me i was like WTH why is it soo hot i havent played this in couple of days , and i finally figure it out it was because of the wii connect 24 so i turn it off.

Hmm...  I better turn my WiiConnect24 off as well, since my Wii gets played on a bi-weekly basis when work, kids and FFXI allow.  If it will cause problems, then I couldn't care less about it.

It has to be on or in standby mode. (orange light)
