Nintendo is done with the Wii, we're seeing them pull away from the console and it's pretty easy to see why.
Close to 3 years of no growth and every release meant to spark a segment of the userbase didn't pay off.
It's not like this is something new though, the Wii is old and a new console will show it's head soon enough. Happens all the time in the industry

Really the only game I would like that hasn't been released already is a Starfox or New Super Mario World Wii, but if not I'd be happy to wait for it on the next, more powerful console.

I think it would work fine on the Wii, but that's really the one Nintendo franchise that I would really want to see more powerful lighting, texture and physics on. Of course I would have said the same for Metroid Prime, but Corruption looks fantastic, so maybe it's just easy for me to say that without having actually seen the game :P

Get rid of Mario. As much as I'd love it if they released it, there are other games I'd want to have much more than that, considering they've already had 2 Galaxy games. Get rid of Resident Evil 2 and Metroid Dread (though I wouldn't mind it either). Replace them with Star Fox, The Last Story, Xenoblade, and another new IP, which is a bit more action oriented and uses Wii Motion Plus. If Wii goes into 2013 (I do actually believe it might), I'd say release a 3D Donkey Kong made by Retro, maybe a 3D Yoshi game, and a regular Paper Mario. I'd definitely be satisfied with those 2011 and 2012 games, but if the 2013 games are released, then I'd say that this was the perfect gen for Nintendo.

Man I've been waiting for a 3D Donkey Kong game for a while, especially now since it's not looking like I'll ever get a chance to play Donkey Kong 64 via the Wii Shop.
2011 is fine up until pikmin 3 and pokemon. Not happening 2010 had better be all games for the wii's successor, unless nintendo is done in the money making business. also RE2 will not be remade anytime soon, kid icarus is on the 3ds, and assuming metroid dread wasn't other M (which, ironically, had dreadful unskippable cutscenes), would also be for the 3DS.2011

Exactly what Rod said. How many games do Sony publish? What, like 2?
Well not to get into any systemwars here, but Sony is publishing like 11+ games this year. Anyway I would be very happy if Nintendo released this e3 list this year 2011: Zelda Skyward Sword Kirby Pikmin 3 3DS Paper Mario Mario Kart Super Mario Bros Animal Crossing Although most of these games have already been announced, none of them have a release date. So I think Nintendo will be trying to get a date on these upcoming games as soon as possible at e3. The Wii's done with basically, and I think the e3 conference will mostly address the 3DS.I've actually never played DK64. I'd really love to play it if they ever release it on the Virtual Console. I have heard some complaints about it, and to be honest, I do prefer more linear, obstacle course platformers over the exploration/collection platformers. However, I've been thinking that with the platforming genre getting a lot of representation on the Wii, from 2D side-scrolling games with a lot of action (NSMBW, DKCR, and the upcoming Kirby Wii), 2D side-scrolling games which focus more on exploration and collection (Wario Land: Shake It and Kirby's Epic Yarn), puzzle games with some platforming elements (A Boy and His Blob), and 3D games that take on the spirit of the 2D platformers (the two Super Mario Galaxy games), the main thing missing is that style of platformer. And I've got to say that that style of gameplay could be great on the Wii's hardware. I'd still want a good amount of regular platforming goodness mixed in with the open world elements, either way, I think that it would be a very good game if given to the right team.Man I've been waiting for a 3D Donkey Kong game for a while, especially now since it's not looking like I'll ever get a chance to play Donkey Kong 64 via the Wii Shop.

What do people actually expect when they still talk about Metroid Dread?
I thought it was just supposed to be the next Metroid developed by the Japanese Metroid team... and that has already happened with Other M, if you like it or not.
TLoZ: Twilight Princess was a great game. Its issue was the fact that it was, essentially, a GC game ported over, but it was a great game nonetheless.I bought my Wii at launch hoping for a great Zelda game. Still waiting.
I want SS. If it turns out to be average, then bye bye Wii.
Will wait and see about their next gen system.

After reading this thread I realise that Zelda is probably the wii game I'm going to buy. Its kind of sad as I have really enjoyed my wii since 08

How do you figure no growth in 3 years? What do you consider growth?
I don't want next generation to come. I haven't played that much this generation due to being busy with other things. The list is ok. I don't see why F-zero or Star fox, or both couldn't come this year. Nintendo announced Goldeneye, Donkey Kong, and Kirby at last year's e3, I don't see why we couldn't have that again this year. I doubt it will happen but still.
If Nintendo just showed Pikmin 3, and Zelda SS for Wii, and Metroid Dread for 3DS, then I would be very, very happy. I bet Sakamoto is working on Metroid Dread for 3DS now :)

I guess it's logical to assume that they will eventually have to make a game detailing the events after Metroid Fusion aka Metroid Dread. It would be great if that game was 2D.What do people actually expect when they still talk about Metroid Dread?

I don't know if I want Metroid to go back to 2D -- not its main games, at least. As far as gameplay value goes, Metroid Prime was a much better series than Metroid: Other M, and was actually closer to the old 2D Metroidvania days than MoM was. Don't get me wrong, I love Super Metroid and the other 2D Metroids, as much as I love the 2D Castlevanias, but Metroid Prime was a big step forward, combining the best of the classic games with the new options that being 3D offers. What do people actually expect when they still talk about Metroid Dread?

Agreed, I want new prime games :( Don't really see how they can push the series forward with it though

Prime was epic. I always loved Metroidvania style games: and it wasn't until the Prime series that I had seen the genre transition to 3D with such quality. Castlevania, one of the series I used to love, has steered to a more action-based type of game (excluding its DS games) -- I can't stress out how happy I am that Metroid managed to maintain its exploration roots and not become another generic shooter. I don't think it NEEDS to be a new entry in the Prime series, but just another game in the style. I'd actually like to see a Metroid game starring a protagonist different than Samus: I'd like to see some different suits and powers explored. But I don't think a main Metroid game would ever feature anyone other than our dear female lead...[QUOTE="Minishdriveby"][QUOTE="MangaPicture"]I guess it's logical to assume that they will eventually have to make a game detailing the events after Metroid Fusion aka Metroid Dread.
