I bought the Wii late (after the price drop), so I've been doing some catch up with it. But I'm hearing things about WiiHD, Wii2, etc., and so I got this concern that maybe I waited too long, or should've waited longer for the next one?

Anyway, I have the system and I guess I can honestly say that it was still worth it, whether I got it too late or not.

I think, like the Gamecube and the original XBOX, the games may be fewer than the other consoles but for what it has, it's good enough. I feel the same with the Wii. Even if I just owned, for example, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Muramasa, A Boy and His Blob, Punch-Out, and Metroid Other M, Dragon Quest X, and the next Zelda when they come out, I'd say I'll be content with the Wii. Of course there are more games to mention, but these are just my favorites.

But what about everyone else? Are you satisfied or content with the Wii and the games it has? Or are you disappointed with it and wish there was more? And be honest, do you feel that maybe Nintendo let you down?

It has given me Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, and Little King's Story. That alone is enough.

There's a ton of games for you that you should still get that are AA and AAA quality games, but everyone here seems to forget all of those and just sais "the wii has no games".

Absolutely. I've still got games I want to play on it and theres plenty of games I can continue to play with my family.

Regardless of when the Wii's lifecycle ends its performed precisely as I've wished it to.

definaltly worth it...

Going from a Nintendo64 to this console is QUITE A JUMP---

All i ahve to say is MARIOKART...The wii is plenty good for me and mine over here...

And when REFLEX comes out---that should be awesome...

Of course The NEw Super Mario Brothers is ging to outsell any game this year...

wii=unique and satisfying...

Dualanalog=boring

I would feel ripped off, not as many AAA titles compared to its counter parts.

A 6 year life cycle is ok and I do think I have got my moneys worth out of it ( I own over 25 games and enjoy them all), but I would rather it go for a bit longer.

Whatever comes out two years from now won't begin with a huge library like the Wii has though, unless it's backwards compatible. So getting a Wii now was a good idea because of the Wii's current large library.

For Mario, Zelda Metroid, and obscure games like De Blob, full backwards compatability with the Cube and virtual console it's been well worth it.

I think it's worth it. It's got alot of games and types of games that you won't find anywhere else. Just based off of the game available for it now, I think the system justifies its price tag. That's not even counting guaranteed AA-AAA titles for next year like SMG2, Zelda Wii 2 and Metroid Other M.

It all comes down to opinion I love the Wii myself and because of that I am getting close to 40 games on the console. So for $200 that would be a big yes.

Yes I have 15 games for it I only had 15 games for the N64 so 15 is about the average of what I buy in one gen. I still have to buy some games at the end of this year. I also plan on buying tons next year so it is already worth it.

well, first i doubt it'll be discontinued that soon, and second, i probably wont jump into the next generation as soon as it's out, just like i've never managed to do before (got a N64 about 2 or 3 years late, the gamecube when mario kart double dash was released, took me almost a year, if not more, to get the GBA, etc). and i'm really enjoying it. so yea, definitely. and i think it's the first console where my dad went to rent games on his own, and actually turn it on to play.

Nintendo's most successful systems the NES and SNES had first party released games above the 5 year mark.

Nope

I wanted to experience racing, sports, and mini games using motion

That was a blast and I was satisfied, from that point on it was just a bonus

Then MLB Power Pros came out and I was like "How did I get so fortunate?"

I'd have to let you know when we get there. Right now, I'm content with the Wii, but I had more fun with my GC. I'd be pretty bored if I didn't have a DS this gen.

Yes. I have a couple dozen games now, most of which I like to some extent, and I have a pretty big list of games that I want to get in the future which look like a lot of fun (and I do plan on continuing to get those games after this gen, since I'm going to be sticking to the current consoles and handhelds). It's just a great addition to this gen, and I don't think I'd have as much fun without it.

Considering that the competition is coming out with their own versions of motion controls, yes it was well worth it. The Wii should be remembered as one of the best consoles of all time for making the gaming industry that much more interesting, and enougn to gain respect from the very same people who talked negatively about video games leading to child obesity and other negative influences.

Ever since Iwata spoke about "The Wii stalled", so many people have been posting these kinds of topics lately. His discussion simply means that Nintendo is currently taking action to fix this. Whatever surprise they have in store for us while the competition is in progress copying the Wii, it should be very good.
